When you have your own home you soon realise just how expensive it is to make it look exactly how you want it to. Not just the decoration but all of the bits that come with it, the comfy chair you had to have, the decor that matches perfectly and just when you think you have everything in place you get itchy fingers and want to redo the whole lot!
I have loved the shabby chic style all my life but I also love the modern fascination with greys and accent colours. My living room is cream with grey carpet, grey sofa, black leather slouch chair and coloured cushions, pictures etc (to lift all of the grey)! The one thing that I have switched up quite a bit is the rug as its an inexpensive way of updating the room and giving it a different look.
This Patchwork rug from Best At Flooring is ideal as it captures both my love of shabby chic and he muted greys blend in with the overall feel of the room and make it all come together. A solid block of colour on the floor in quite a small area seems to make the room seem even smaller but this has had quite the opposite effect – the room looks a lot bigger and it has definitely lighted it up too.
It is very thin but extremely hard wearing which means the kids don’t keep losing things in it like they did with the big fluffy one we had, this one is easily wiped clean too which is god send as the kids love to sit on the floor for picnics!
The patchwork rug is available in two sizes 120×170 or 155×230, I opted for the smaller size and it fits perfectly, any bigger and it would have looked totally out of place. The pattern is beautiful and would fit in with any decor.
I was gifted the rug for the purpose of the review. All views and opinions are my own and genuine.
For those who prefer a more traditional home-like experience when on vacation, a timeshare can make sense. If you’ve gotten many years of good use out of your timeshare and now want to get rid of it, a timeshare cancellation company like Timeshare Freedom Group or Lonestar transfer may be able to help.
