During lockdown, I’ve been wondering what I could do to improve the look of my home. I didn’t want to completely renovate my house but felt like it needed something new and fresh, a quick and simple uplift. And then, it hit me. Ironmongery!
I’m a big fan of all things ironmongery – door handles, door knockers, hooks, window furniture and all those other hardware small details that tie-in your décor vision are an important part of any home. Not only are they incredibly functional but they can also be highly decorative.
As Ironmongery Experts mention in a recent blog post, “architectural ironmongery comes in all kinds of designs and finishes, and when chosen correctly, architectural ironmongery can give your property that special touch it requires.” That’s exactly what I was looking for, a simple yet special touch.
Here’s when I fell down a whirlwind of different ironmongery trends to try, each one as interesting as the other, and I couldn’t choose which one(s) to try. So, I’m going to need some opinions! I’ll share some of my favourite ironmongery trends and you can let me know which ones you list best.
As this article on Life With Baby Kicks mentions, “matte black is back and bigger than it has ever been.” Black ironmongery is elegant, classy, bold and can be paired with any other metal. This matte black knurled door handle would love perfect in my living room!
Mixing styles and designs.
Fashion Mommy says that “mixing different tones and styles together is the thing to do.” I’m happy to try this trend of combining modern ironmongery with more traditional ironmongery. What do you think?
Think about texture.
“Modern interiors need different colours and texture for some visual flair.” Comments Boo Roo And Tigger Roo in this article. I have never thought of texture when it came to interior design, I would mostly think about colour but now I’ll be sure to give texture some needed thought. I love these knurled cupboard knobs and polished brass knurled cabinet handles for my kitchen.
Which one is your favourite trend?

For those who prefer a more traditional home-like experience when on vacation, a timeshare can make sense. If you’ve gotten many years of good use out of your timeshare and now want to get rid of it, a timeshare cancellation company like Timeshare Freedom Group or Lonestar transfer may be able to help.
