One thing I love to do is update how my house look without spending a fortune. I think its because working from home and home schooling means I am looking at the same four walls all the time and get bored easily.
As much as I would love to switch up the furniture etc the simplest way to update and chance the whole asthetics of a room is to first switch up the curtains. This can be a huge adventure in itself as there are so many styles and fabrics to choose from these days. I went through a whole phase of having thick, heavy textured curtains with drapes and pelmets, it made the rooms seem so warm and also a lot smaller than they needed to be but the dramatic look was what I wanted then.

These days I love the plain look or something simple with embellishments, there are some amazing decorative curtains with beads and pearls which work well in girls bedrooms and since my eldest daughter is a true girly girl this is something she adores. I have found some amazing childrens curtains at great prices from Yorkshire Linen that would work so well in both the kids rooms and the guest room. With a massive selection of colours and styles I could switch out the curtains around and restyle each room into the dream rooms I would love.

Evie is a huge pink girl and I have found a great selection of styles and shades that I just know she would love. Her room is painted a beautiful pink with unicorn wall paper, which would look amazing with pastel pink voile curtains and tie backs.
The whole room can look different with just a change of curtains and it is such an inexpensive and really quick way to update a rooms look.
