You should know by now if you read my blog regularly that I am a huge lover of giving gifts and finding something other than the ordinary to gift someone. With Easter just around the corner I thought I would put together a gift guide that would suit anyone, young or old. I am not really the biggest chocolate fan but if we could get a giant egg made from crisps or savoury snacks then count me in for having all of those!
Ok first up is something for those who love being in the kitchen, its my favourite place and judging by the comments I get on my recipe posts etc its somewhere you all love to be too. Viners have a fabulous selection of keepsake gifts including everything from cutlery and pan sets to platters and serve ware.
Everything in their collections comes with a 10 or 25 year guarantee, some of the premium collection even have a 50 year guarantee but to be honest I think everything I own looks as good as that day I bought it so peace of mind is there that quality outlasts quantity. The Nightingale 16 Piece Cutlery set is brand new for 2019 and features decorative embossed bird design and curved handle. RRP: £37.50 The Soft Grip Pan Set is something that may not be on a normal gift list but I have had this conversation before with people, if someone is going to buy me a gift I love that it would be something I can use! Something practical means the world to me as it shows they have put thought into it and chosen something to make my life easier. RRP: £83.50
I picked my top 3 eggs this year based on the fact that although I am not a chocolate lover, you really can’t get through Easter without just a little! Guylian is one of the chocolates I will eat and the fact that you get a box of their unmistakable seashells with the egg is just an absolute bonus! Priced at £4 and available from Guylian. Honeycomb is something I could eat all day so to find that Lily O’Brien’s have released a honeycomb egg this Easter gets me all kinds of excited! How beautiful does this looks too and I really think it would make a one of those ‘someone special’ Easter eggs. Priced at £12.99 and available from Lily O’Brien’s. Finally the Lir Belgian Hand Decorated milk chocolate egg is not just one you go into lightly, this is a top shelf egg and looks like a piece of art work in itself. Complete with 4 chocolates, Cinnamon and Cream, Salted Caramel, Hazelnut Gianduja and Coffee Crunch this really is something special! RRP: £12.00 Available from Lir Chocolates
For something a little bit different and something that appeals to the savoury lover in me! Blacksticks Blue is a CHEESE EGG! Perfect with a glass of port or believe it or not, a hot cross bun, this deliciously tasty cheese works well with fruits too! This would make a great centrepiece for an Easter tea or even just coffee with the girls. How many times have you seen a cheese egg?! RRP: £5.00 from Butlers
It wouldn’t be an Easter dinner without something special to wash it down! My first choice for the weekend would be a little something special, Vuestro. With a delicate, refreshing flavour of gentle, citrus notes this is a relaxed, easy drinking, sparkling wine. RRP: £6.00 from Co-Op My second choice is the Cockburn’s Special Reserve Port with its garnet red colour and concentrated fruity aromas. A full bodied Port which gives a distinctive dry finish. RRP: £12.29 from Waitrose
Portmeirion is one of my go to names for gifts, their pieces are timeless and I love the whimsical Wrendale designs by Hannah Dale. The mischevious and bedraggled bunny is the perfect centrepiece for Easter morning breakfast tea! With cups, saucers and everything else you could need for the ultimate breakfast in bed I really do think that these should be staples in everyones kitchen! RRP: £40.00 from Royal Worcester
Smellies are always something that go down well and you know they will always be used too. The Pink Fizz & Elderflower Easter Egg beauty gift set from Baylis & Harding is such a cute alternative to chocolate. Filled with body wash, ltion and goild wrapped bath fizzer this is a beautiful gift for any lady young or old. RRP: £12.50 from Next
One thing that always hits me when I walk into our local shopping centre are the scents coming from Lush! My whole reasoning behind starting to shop there years ago was their work policy and the fact that they have a no nonsense approach to animal testing and the environment. I love the fact that they have launched the ‘wrap’ which is a great way to combat the disposable wrapping that comes with many products. Buy a gift and wrap it up with this reusable cloth packaging – fab idea and something I hope more stores will take on board. The wrap is priced at £3.95 and makes gifts that little bit more special too!
Collectables are a huge thing right now, especially anything Disney. This super cute Wonder of Spring Bambi is a fabulous Easter piece and fits in really well with the season right now. With a cheeky butterfly perched upon a wide eyed Bambi this really is something special. RRP: £22.00 from F Hinds
Jelly Belly have released a Bubbly Sparkling Wine Flavour Jelly Bean in a super cute little wine bottle. Seriously, its things like this that get me excited! The fact I can tell the children these are just for mummy and, although they contain no alcohol, are aimed at grown ups for when we do get 5 minutes peace means a lot! RRP: £3 from Jelly Belly
My kids love making things and I think foodie projects are great as it gets them interested in what they are eating. Sprinkle Stix is a great way to get messy without a ton of clean up! What could be better than chocolate covered sprinkle sticks! Everything is included except the chocolate and sticks but the machinery to create a swirling vortex of sprinkles is there and that’s the exciting bit! RRP: 22.99 from John Adams
Amelia loves watching Ryans World, any kid who watches Youtube will have come across this name. His range of toys have been released and an Easter non chocolate toy range featuring a mini egg filled with bouncy ball, mystery figure, putty and stickers is amongst the line up. RRP: £14.99 from Argos
