We were recently invited to Cookhouse & Pub to take advantage of their new Kids eat for £1 offer. As we were to be away on holiday and quite close to the Bridlington branch we decided to combine the joys of being away with some delicious food too!
On arrival the whole building is impressive and positioned within sea view so after indulging it is ideal for a walk along the beach to get rid of some of the calories!

We were greeted by the manager and introduced to our server who were both more than happy to help with anything and on hand all afternoon to deal with anything we needed. Regular checks to make sure the food was good and drinks were filled were appreciated.

The girls were given colouring and task papers which resulted in one of those flippers you use to make at school with dodgy suggestions! lol Thankfully these ones had the likes of spot something beginning with c or a and drink a glass of water!

The kids eat for £1 offer runs Mon-Thurs, 3.30-5.30pm (up to two children per adult, £1 children’s two course meal when adult main meal purchased). The cost for kids meals are usually £4.99 so this is a great saving!
The girls chose the garlic bread and veggies starter while I opted for garlic mushrooms and Lisa chose the loaded potato skins. We love that the girls were given an option for starter as kids meals usually only include main and dessert but this meant that they weren’t sitting drooling while we started our meal!

Mains were a little harder to choose as there were so many delicious looking options! I finally chose the Steak and Ale Pie with Cheddar Suet, Lisa chose the Burrito Bowl (which didn’t come with rice so not sure if that was missed off in dishing up or a misprint on the menu) and both girls went for the chicken bites with chips and corn.

I have never had suet pudding in ages so this was a real treat and the addition of cheddar in the pastry made it so indulgent and moreish! For once too the girls ate most of their dinners too so the bites got the thumbs up from them!
Although we were at bursting point by now we knew a full review wouldn’t be complete without dessert so after a deep breath and loosening of trousers we chose the Black forest sundae, lemon mousse and Funny face ice creams for the girls. The girls desserts were ideal as it gave them an opportunity to ‘play’ with their food which for some reason always makes it more appealing!

Overall the choices on both the childrens and main menu impressed us all and we wouldn’t hesitate to revisit another branch of Cookhouse & Pub closer to home to take advantage of the kids eat for £1 offer!

Oh wow the food looks fantastic and sounds like a great place to take families. We always try and make the most of these type of deals where either kids eat for free or for very little because it really does help and make a big savings, meaning we can enjoy a meal out without feeling to bad about the money

Looks like a good option for a family lunch – can’t beat a good steak and ale pie! Amazing value for kids too.
The kids’ menus look great, and I love the fact the girls were given some colouring / activities to do as soon as you got there. There’s nothing worse than kids having nothing to do as you’ve waiting!
I think you had me at kids can eat for £1, some eateries can be so expensive these day and glad this one is affordable and offers good menus too.
That is really good that the kids menu came with starters as otherwise you’ll end up having to share as they’d get jealous x
Oh wow that looks great! I Love that kids eat for £1, that makes such a big difference when eating out as a family as it can get expensive!
Wow, that is amazing value. The food looks great!
