If you are a sucker for packaging like me then you will love a good hamper! Honestly, there is nothing like getting a gift but its something else when you open up a parcel and it contains a basket too! With the current fascination with all things hygge too there is always a need for baskets or containers! I have put together a few of my favourite gifts for Christmas – whether they be boxed, basketed or bagged, who doesn’t love a fabulous hamper of goodies!
First up is a fabulous company that sells Indie food direct from the producer, meaning that once you place your order with Yumbles, the artisans get to work and create fresh produce for you. A one stop shop for all things delicious! I was kindly sent a hamper featuring Northumbrian Cheese Company products and being a local company I couldn’t be more delighted. With cheeses, jams and chutney as well as a book of Northumbrian recipes this really is a treat (plus the hamper itself is re-usable too!) For the Vegan’s among you, they also have a really fantastic range of Vegan cheeses, who knew there were so many options! Why not take a look yourself and explore a range of vegan cheese at Yumbles. rrp: £31.50

Well known in the world of hampers, Virginia Hayward have been creating tailored bespoke hampers for the past 30 years. With everything from smoked salmon to sweets there is a hamper for every occasion and I was delighted to see a number of different ones available to celebrate Christmas. The Christmas Carol contains everything you need including Christmas pudding, mince pies and wine – what more could you need on a cold Sunday afternoon! Presented in a decorative box instead of wicker hamper which keeps the costs down too – a more affordable version of some of the pricier high street alternatives. rrp: £24.99 from Virginia Hayward

Chocoholics rejoice for Santa has got the ultimate gift for you! Years ago I watched a programme on TV, Willies Wonky Chocolate Factory, about a one man adventure to grow cocoa beans in South America and make chocolate in England. I was delighted to see that Willie Harcourt-Cooze became an amazing success through all of his hard work and the chocolate was soon sold in the likes of Selfridges, even more delighted to see that it is now currently available in a lot more stores and online too. This ultimate chocolate hamper contains everything you need to not only add chocolate into your daily routine but into savoury foods and recipes too – check out Willies website for lots of inspiration! rrp: from £29.99 Willies Cocoa

Something a little different now in the form of an spirit hamper or rather gift box. This fabulous selection of everything from gin to whisky comes from Booths, a company that create luxurious hampers for any occasion. I am rather taken with the hat box hampers and will most definitely be purchasing one of those for both myself and mum for Mothers Day – I am a sucker for packaging and these are so pretty! The Miniature Spirits Giftbox has a fabulous magnetic clasp, making this a reusable box too which will be great to keep paperwork in. The brands included are Brandy Jules Clairon VSOP (20cl), The Lakes Distillery – The ONE Award-Winning Blended Whisky (20cl), Whitley Neill Quince Gin (5cl), Kin Toffee & Vodka (5cl), Whitley Neill Blood Orange Vodka (5cl), Whitley Neill Gin (5cl), Kraken Black Spiced Rum (5cl) and Martell Fine Cognac (5cl) rrp: £55.00

One name that is synonymous with hampers, established in 1926 and known as the makers of hampers of distinction are Spicers of Hythe. I have used these in the past and never once been disappointed, I have even recommended them to others who want to find something different to send. I was kindly sent the Deluxe Chocolate hamper which contains everything from shortbread to truffles and fudge to chocolate coated honeycomb! With names including Joe & Seph and Beeches this really is a chocolate heaven, with so much goodness packed into a fabulous reusable basket hamper and very reasonably priced too at £31.99.

This last one is less of a hamper and more of a monthly treat! It does come in a well packaged box and you get something new to try each month, the first one if you sign up now, just in time for Christmas! The Craft Gin Club is a subscription club where you are sent through the post a full size bottle of gin each month, mixers and snacks as well as a fabulous Ginned magazine, telling you all about your new arrival. Packed with competitions and chances to win prizes including a month free! I love this idea as it gives you the opportunity to try something new and to be honest most of the bottles I have seen in images so far are ones that I haven’t come across in the supermarket. The thought of trying something that is a little different alongside treats delivered to the door makes this a must have for my Christmas guide! rrp: £40 per month from The Craft Gin Club (first month is £28)

XOXO
Debbie
