I was recently asked to trial Campaign Monitor which allows you to create professional marketing campaigns for my blog readers or friends. Creating eye catching emails is a huge issue as you need something that is going to stand out from the crowd and make someone want to click through to the offer or proposal you are suggesting.
The whole process behind creating your campaign couldn’t be easier. After creating an account, you can choose either Basic, Unlimited or Premium and obviously prices vary depending on the level of support you need.
The basic package, which is the one I chose, is only £9 a month and allows:
Send 2,500 emails across campaigns and automated emails
Customer support via email
All core email marketing features
Pixel-perfect email design tools
A/B testing tools
List and subscriber management
Email insights and reporting
Basic email automation
To begin a campaign you simply click Create New Campaign, which will take you through to a page allowing you to name the campaign, give it a title and fill in who it is from and a reply to email address.
There are over 25 ready made templates to choose from which makes things super easy as most of the background work is done for you, there is an option to upload html formats or clone templates you have previously created.
You can drag and drop images straight onto the campaign page and choose which text format you want to use. The whole process is completely personalised and offers a wide range of flexibility to custom design around your business. The campaigns are mobile friendly so you can see what they will look like across PC, mobile and tablet, there is nothing worse than having missing information or receiving an email that cuts off too early so you don’t get the full details of an offer etc.
The next step is to define who you are sending the email to, the list of recipients. Whether you are aiming it to everyone, females only or an individual age range. The great thing about this is that you can completely personalise it all to whoever you are sending to. You can schedule it to send straight away or at a specific time and date in the future.
After sending the campaign you can see straight away who has opened the email, which ones have bounced and which are deleted straight away. This shows which kind of campaigns are successful and gives great insight into what to send in future.
Overall I was very impressed with how easy the process was from start to finish. I love receiving emails that are personalised and tend to open and read them more often than I do with generic ones so this is definitely the way ahead for me in the future.
