What is that big ball of yellow up in the sky?! I am sure it’s not just me who gets a little excited when the sun comes out as it means a complete shift in wardrobe from top to bottom!
Away go the jumpers and thick woolly tights and out come the sandals and strappy T shirts! I think one of my favourite switch overs though is my perfume, make up and jewellery!
I love being able to pop on some moisturiser, a flash of mascara, a slick of lipgloss and head out to feel the sun on my face rather than trying to hide my greyish, winter affected dry skin under a mountain of product! My perfume is along a similar line – during winter I love heavy fragrances that suit the dark nights and are a bold strong scent. In summer I adore La’ Vie Est Belle and Chloe (an oldie but a goodie!) to bring out those deliciously light and floral memories!
Jewellery in winter is a big thing for me as I love to wear black polo necks with chunky jewellery, big watches and maybe a thick decorative ring or two, whereas in summer I love to switch them up for something a little simpler that won’t look out of place with a white shirt and blue jeans. A simple silver or rose gold necklace and elegant watch of similar hue, maybe even small diamond stud earrings instead of tassels that everyone has been loving this fall.
Something simple and understated yet classy from Tateossian would work well this summer with a strappy summer dress or even off the shoulder top that I favourited last year! I cant wait for the weather to get warmer so that I can finally feel comfortable in strappy tops without having to wear cardigans or blazers over the top, yes I still have a little weight to move but I feel so much better than I did last year and those fine necklaces are going to sit so much nicer this summer!
My ankle boots and heavy shoes will soon be swapped for something light and strappy, I am loving some of the clothing and shoes the shops are getting in right now and the pastels are a heavy favourite again which work well with fine jewellery and delicate pieces, I might even rock an ankle bracelet this year! So much scope for change with the season!
