Week two of Spell Jar Season, and we’re diving deep into something every mother, every woman building something from scratch needs to hear: you are allowed to want more. You are allowed to believe abundance is possible. And sometimes, the shift from “barely making it” to “thriving” starts with changing the energy around money in your home.
After twenty years of blogging and watching my income fluctuate, I’ve learned something crucial: our relationship with money is often our biggest block to receiving it. This week’s jar isn’t just about manifesting cash (though that’s lovely too) – it’s about rewiring your brain to see opportunity instead of lack.
There’s something about autumn that whispers abundance. The harvest season. The time when nature shows off everything she’s been growing all year. September energy says: “Look what’s possible when you plant seeds and tend them with intention.”
But here’s what I notice every year: while nature is celebrating her abundance, many of us are stressed about money. Back-to-school expenses. Summer holiday bills. The looming cost of Christmas. We’re surrounded by harvest energy while feeling financially depleted.
The Autumn Abundance Jar helps bridge that gap. It’s not about magical thinking – it’s about training your mind to notice opportunities, to feel worthy of financial success, and to approach money decisions from a place of confidence rather than fear.
Let me be honest with you. For years, I approached my blog like a hobby that occasionally paid. I’d get a low paying sponsored post and feel grateful just to cover my hosting costs. I never pitched brands because I didn’t think I was “big enough” or “good enough” to command real money.
Sound familiar?
The shift happened when I started treating my blog like the business it actually was. When I began setting income goals instead of just hoping for the best. When I developed proper pitch templates and started actively pursuing partnerships instead of waiting for brands to find me.
But the mindset shift? That came first. And it started with a jar very much like this one, sitting on my kitchen windowsill, reminding me daily that abundance was not only possible but inevitable when I aligned my actions with my intentions.
Ingredients:
The Energy Behind Each Element:
Step 1: Get Clear on Your Numbers Before you begin, write your specific abundance goal on the bay leaf. Not “more money” but “£2,000 monthly” or “£10,000 by the end of the year” for example. The universe loves specificity.
Step 2: Address Your Money Blocks As you add each ingredient, speak to any limiting beliefs you’re releasing. “I release the belief that wanting money makes me greedy” or “I let go of the fear that I’m not qualified for higher-paying opportunities.”
Step 3: Layer with Intention Start with coins at the bottom – you’re creating a foundation of financial flow. Add your written goal. Layer the basil while thinking about all the ways abundance could show up (not just money, but time, energy, opportunities). Add the cinnamon stick and aventurine chips. Top with your citrine or pyrite – your money magnet.
Step 4: Activate with Fire Light your candle and hold the jar near the flame. Speak your abundance goal aloud three times. This isn’t about the heat – it’s about the energy of transformation that fire represents.
Step 5: Place for Daily Reminders I keep mine near my workspace where I see it every time I’m writing, pitching, or planning content. Some prefer the kitchen (the heart of the home) or near the front door (welcoming abundance in).
Here’s where this gets practical. This jar isn’t about sitting back and waiting for money to appear. It’s about creating the energetic foundation that supports you taking bold action.
Since creating my first abundance jar, I’ve:
The jar didn’t do these things for me. But the daily reminder of my abundance intention gave me the confidence to do them for myself.
Money conversations with children can be tricky, but this jar opens beautiful opportunities for teaching abundance mindset. Let older children (10+) help create their own small abundance jars for their goals – maybe saving for something special or feeling confident about new opportunities.
The conversation becomes about gratitude for what we have, excitement about what’s possible, and the understanding that wanting good things for our family isn’t selfish – it’s responsible.
I need to be clear about something: this jar won’t make money appear out of thin air. What it will do is help you notice opportunities you might have missed, give you confidence to pursue bigger goals, and remind you daily that you’re worthy of financial success.
In my experience, the “magic” shows up as:
Sometimes, creating this jar brings up resistance. “Who am I to want more?” “What if I’m being greedy?” “What if I fail?”
These feelings are normal and actually helpful – they’re showing you exactly what needs to be released. Write these fears on small pieces of paper and burn them safely (in a fireproof bowl) before creating your jar. You’re literally transforming the energy of limitation into the energy of possibility.
I refresh this jar monthly, usually around the new moon. The old ingredients get buried in the garden with gratitude, and I create a new jar with updated goals and intentions.
Some months, my goals are about increasing income. Other months, they’re about having more time freedom or attracting the right opportunities. Abundance isn’t just about money – it’s about having enough of everything that matters to you.
This week, I challenge you to get specific about your abundance goals. Not just “more money” but exactly what you want and by when. Write it down. Put it in your jar. Then take one concrete action toward that goal.
For me, that action was finally sending those brand pitch emails I’d been putting off. For you, it might be raising your rates, applying for a better position, or starting that side project you’ve been dreaming about.
Next Monday, we’ll create the Balance & Harmony Jar – perfect timing as we approach the autumn equinox. Because abundance without balance can quickly become overwhelm, and we want sustainable success that supports our whole life, not just our bank account.
What abundance goal will you write on your bay leaf? What one action will you take this week to support that intention becoming reality?
Remember: you’re not just a mum who blogs. You’re not just someone hoping to make a little extra money. You’re a woman building something meaningful, and you deserve to be abundantly supported in that work.
The harvest season is here. It’s time to reap what you’ve been sowing.
Next Monday: The Balance & Harmony Jar – because sustainable abundance requires sustainable energy.
