Having never really been a huge chocolate fan I am always on the look out for an alternative Advent calendar each year. The children always have a handmade one that I fill with bits and pieces I know they will love plus a chocolate character one from the pound shop!
I have looked at beauty ones but there are often bits in that I would never dream of using. I have found book ones that, once again, have books in that would never be on my radar.
Expensive chocolate? I’m not keen on chocolate full stop regardless of price!
Bath Bombs? I barely get time to go to the toilet alone let alone soak in the bath!
Nail Varnish? Been there done that and most of them were split by the time I got round to using them!
Wine? OK, now we’re talking…
Vodka? …YES
GIN? YES YES YES!
Of course this needed some extensive research so I thought I would bring you my ultimate guide to the most fabulous Adult Only Advent calendars for 2017.
After announcing that not only were they going to be selling 3 ltr bottles of Prosecco in the run up to Christmas, Aldi have given us the true meaning of Christmas with a ‘bottle a day’ wine advent.
Retailing at £49.99 these will be snapped up in no time so fastest fingers first!
Who doesn’t love a bit of fizz! How about 24 bottles of fizz? The Pip Stop (which just happens to be around the corner from where I live – how lucky am I?!) are releasing a Prosecco Advent Calendar that contains a 20cl bottle of fizz for each day in December.
Priced at £125.00 this is a little more expensive than the Aldi wine advent calendar but knowing The Pip Stop there will be some corkers in there for you to try!
The Gin Foundry have created something that makes my heart sing! Finding a gap in the market, they have created a one of a kind GIN advent calendar or for want of a better word…GINVENT!
The content of the Ginvent calendars is carefully curated and painstakingly considered so that all styles of gins are included, from London Dry to Old Tom, to Navy strength, Fruit infused and so on… RRP £124.95
Masters of Malt have a whole host of alcohol fuelled Advent calendars this year containing everything from Whiskey, Gin and Vodka starting from £99.95 through to the Macassar Ebony Whiskey Advent at £9,999.95. Personally the one that appeals to me most is That Boutique-y Gin Company Advent…
Developed in collaboration with some of the world’s finest distillers and rectifiers, expressions squirrelled away within this charming box include spectacular flavoured expressions, award-winners and even a gin made with botanicals from actual space. Out of this world!
If spirits aren’t your thing how about beer? The Craft Beer Advent Calendar launches in October and offers a December full of cheer.
Wrap up cosy and experience a hug starting from the inside with Brooklyn Brewery’s luxuriously dark Black Chocolate Stout or hang out with a Raging Bitch and get your Christmas on Flying Dog stylee – it’s all there for the taking. There was no price at the time of me posting this.
I really think these are the kinds of calendars that could help us through the festive season, I know I would most certainly look forward to opening each day!
PS. Drink responsibly, not that I need to say that but hey ho there will be some Scrooges out there – it is holiday season after all!
XOXO
Debbie
This is NOT a collaborative post however if any alcohol suppliers would like me to sample their wares in the run up to Christmas I would be totally open to that! 😉
