There’s something lovely about finding little ways to look after yourself at home. I’m a big believer that looking after your wellbeing doesn’t have to mean making huge changes or turning your whole routine upside down. Sometimes it’s simply about trying something new and finding what works for you.
Recently, I’ve been experimenting with making my own fresh juice shots, and my new cold press juicer has been helping me do just that.

Making homemade juice shots
For my first batch, I used a combination of lemon, ginger, celery, spinach and cucumber. These ingredients make a fresh, vibrant juice with a lovely balance of citrus and earthy flavours.
I like the idea of preparing my own juice at home because I can choose exactly what goes into it, experiment with different combinations and make the quantities that suit me.
Here’s what I used for my homemade juice shots:
Simply wash your ingredients, prepare them according to your juicer’s instructions and feed them through the machine. You can adjust the quantities to suit your taste, adding more lemon for a citrusy flavour or cucumber for a milder, fresher finish.
Once juiced, pour into small, clean containers and enjoy straight away, or refrigerate promptly in a sealed container. Fresh juice is best consumed as soon as possible, and it’s important to keep it refrigerated.

My juicer: What makes it useful?
One of the things that caught my attention about this juicer is that it offers more than just everyday juicing.
The extra-wide 165mm feed chute
If you’ve ever prepared fruit and vegetables for juicing, you’ll know that chopping everything into tiny pieces can take time.
The extra-wide 165mm feed chute is designed to accommodate whole fruits, including apples and oranges, as well as a variety of other fruit and vegetables. The built-in pre-cut blade helps prepare ingredients as they enter the juicer.
That means less time spent on preparation and more time enjoying the finished result. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions about which ingredients can be fed in whole.
Three functions in one machine
Another feature I find particularly appealing is its 3-in-1 versatility.
Alongside fresh fruit and vegetable juice, the machine is designed to make fruit sorbet using frozen fruit and homemade nut milk.
I love kitchen appliances that offer different ways to get creative because they can be useful for more than one recipe. I can imagine experimenting with frozen fruit sorbets in the summer and trying homemade nut milk for smoothies or breakfast recipes.
A quieter DC motor
The juicer features a DC motor designed to provide smooth, consistent power while operating more quietly than traditional AC motor designs.
For anyone who enjoys preparing breakfast or making drinks in the morning, a quieter kitchen appliance is a welcome feature.
It’s also designed to extract juice from a variety of ingredients, including fruits, vegetables and fibrous produce.

Easy-rinse filter
Let’s be honest: one of the things that can put us off using kitchen gadgets regularly is the thought of cleaning them afterwards.
This juicer has a no-hole filter designed to reduce pulp getting trapped in traditional fine mesh openings. The manufacturer says it can be rinsed under running water for easier everyday cleaning.
As always, it’s important to follow the cleaning instructions supplied with the machine and clean all the appropriate parts after use.
A generous 2.5-litre capacity
The spacious 2.5-litre hopper is designed for preparing larger batches, making it useful for family breakfasts or preparing juice for more than one person.
If you prefer to make several portions at once, this larger capacity could be a practical feature.
The juicer also comes with a two-year warranty and dedicated after-sales support, offering additional peace of mind.
Why I’m enjoying making my own juice
For me, this is about finding enjoyable ways to build little rituals into my day.
I enjoy trying new recipes, experimenting with ingredients and finding simple things that make my everyday routine feel a little more special. Making juice at home fits nicely into that approach.
It’s also important to remember that no single drink is a magic solution for health or wellbeing. Juice can be one enjoyable part of a varied, balanced diet, alongside eating whole fruits and vegetables, drinking enough water and finding movement you enjoy.
I’m not about deprivation or making life unnecessarily complicated. I want to find a balance that works for me and that I can maintain.
Would I try more homemade juice recipes?
Definitely! Now that I’ve started experimenting with homemade juice shots, I’d love to try some different flavour combinations.
A few ideas on my list include:
You can experiment with different proportions to find the flavours you enjoy most.
Final thoughts
Making fresh juice at home has been a fun addition to my kitchen routine, and this juicer offers some useful features beyond everyday juicing, including its wide feed chute, 3-in-1 functions, large capacity and easy-rinse filter.
I’m looking forward to trying more combinations and seeing what other recipes I can create.
Have you tried making your own juice shots at home? I’d love to hear your favourite ingredient combinations!
