Having a family home means a rainbow of colours inside and out but have you ever thought about how colours in your home can change your mood?
Distinctive Chesterfields have created a fabulous infographic, also displayed on Inhabitat website, to show which colours work best in each room and which colours to avoid.
Having just moved, we are starting to decorate each room and this guide will be perfect to show us which hues to use and where. I am going through a white out phase at the moment so will be adding hints of colours to each room to enhance a feeling of warmth or security. I have found bright bold colours are on their way out of fashion and we were aware that bright red shouldn’t be used in a bedroom yet we opted for red tartan curtains and bedding but have softened it down with cream walls and knitted cushions etc.
We are soon to start on Evies bedroom and she has chosen lilac/pink and grey, so to find out that grey represents stability and elegance while lilac is romantic and feminine means the room will grow with her.
She has already picked out her bedding from Dunelm and is in complete makeover mode, wanting everything from lilac spotted rug to butterfly curtains and twinkle lights on the ceiling! It is the first time she has had her own room so to see her so excited is beautiful.
I guess at least we know the colours are right for her room and its going to look so pretty too!
