For as long as I can remember I have wanted a SodaStream, the thought of making my own juice or fizzy water well outweighed the costs of buying bottle after bottle of carbonated juice! We never actually got around to having one but I do have vague memories of having one as a child, I swear I can remember the fizz!
Now that I am an adult the whole environmental issue surrounding plastic bottles and recycling is something that we take seriously, the girls have been doing home school projects on the effects waste is having on our planet. The fact we can reduce the amount of plastic that comes in and leaves our home makes me feel that we are at least doing our part in helping, even if it is in a small way.
SodaStream have just launched the Spirit One Touch which is their first electric machine, giving the option of 3 fizz levels in seconds! The starter pack contains the One Touch machine, gas canister, water bottle, power cable, plug adapters and 2 year warranty.
The set up was really easy, once you take off the blue wrapping at the top of the canister and uncap it you simply screw it up inside the back of the One Touch. The back is then slotted back into place and the plug can be attached.
There are multiple adapters which is great for those who want to take it with them on travels!
The bottle comes with a handy water mark to show where to fill up to with plain old tap water… as you can see from our water we live in a heavy water area and the girls will very rarely drink water straight from the tap! The bottle then slots into the front of the machine and when you push back it is held in place ready for the fizz to be added!
This was the girls favourite part – the fizz! You simply press one of the three buttons on the top of the machine and away it goes, the levels of fizz range from slight to very bubbly and believe me when I say the latter is more bubbly than anything I have ever drank before! This would be a great addition to any party and I can imagine running out of tonic water not being a problem, I wouldn’t mind whipping up some of this extra fizz with a slice of lemon instead!
To be honest the girls loved it just as much as I did and if it helps get extra water into them during the day then I would be more than happy to stock up on canisters and flavoured juice!
