Since I am cooking for 7 every day, including a hubby and 3 growing boys (ages 18, 13 and 12) you can bet they are wanting big servings.
We are big meat eaters but there are some great vegan meal deliveries out there if You want to substitute those meals. Sometimes when I make pasta i make enough so that me and Amelia can have it for lunch the following day too so bear that in mind when I mention packet sizes etc as I am usually making for what would essentially be 8 people!

Aldi price for all the above including ingredients for making your own pastry, pitta and chipati £57!
So for a little over £8 per day this makes dinner for 8 people over the week!
Obviously I have omitted the fact there is lunch and breakfast to purchase too. In total including desserts, treats and juice, milk etc our total spend for the week was just under £100. I am sure we could get this down further if we used less meat etc but what can I say, I’m raising boys who don’t think its a meal unless there’s meat on it! lol
XOXO

Love these ideas! We probably spend about half that and there is only 3 of us! So I think you do very well! Going to steal a few of these ideas for my meal planning.
Fabulous, hope you enjoy and i will be doing how to posts for the pittas and chipati etc 🙂
That’s really good for how much food you got!! Great planning.
Thank you xx
oh my, 8 people at that price? i keep forgetting aldi is very affordable. i wish there was one close to me as i would be saving lots
Its only recently we started going too – otherwise it was sainsburys or asda!
The homemade corned beef pie sounds really yummy. I can imagine with that many to cook for that meal planning really saves you quite a bit of time and money.
The thing with the pie is i always end up eating half the mix when i mash the corned beef and potatoes for the filling! lol
Price is really good. I spend even more just for me, my husband and our dog:D You inspired me to make a little planogram like that for my little family:)
Yayy, let me know how you get on!
Oh what great ideas, I plan for the week but we don’t stick to every day like we should. I love planning ahead it really makes things easier for those rushed week days
I know what you mean, there are some days where it all seems to be against you and i need to prep some meals ahead just to pull out ready!
Thats really good. I try to cook from stratch every week and use up leftovers in following meals
I love a good leftover dish – especially bubble and squeak after sunday dinner!
We eat a lot of meat too, we try to replace at least two meals a week with quorn but it just doesn’t taste the same. We find meal planning saves us money too, but we only have a family of four and still spend the same amount, so many I need to look at our food budget a bit more closely. Thanks for the post, lots of great meal ideas in here.
A few people have said that about meat replacement, we are meat eaters here through and through! lol
We have a meal planner per week, and what we need for each days recipes. We have found that it has cut down on both our shopping bills and food wastage which is good news all round.
It really does doesn’t it – it cuts down in all areas which is great!
I need to meal plan a bit more, makes things so easier!

I love the sound of prawn red thai curry. I was in Thailand over the summer and fell in love with their cuisine!
