Hope is a collection of elegant, relaxed pieces that will make all women look and feel beautifully confident. Fashion should be fun and Hope has a contemporary simplicity that allows you to get on with being a busy, sociable woman, while still looking effortlessly stylish.
I have to admit I have reached that point where I see younger people wearing dungarees and crop tops and think ‘I did that first time round, I’m not doing it again’ Even some of the jeans (can you call them jeans when they have more holes than fabric?) are beyond me now, I think my fashion sense has taken a turn for the more mature look and as much as I don’t want to admit I’m an adult, mum and soon to be grandma ……well, I am and with that comes a need for comfortable, sensible clothes that will withstand the test of time and last a little longer than one season.
The Hope Collection has been designed building on the first principles of the Divine Proportion. The Divine Proportion is found in nature, science and art and represents the perfect balance of working in thirds.
Hope has taken some of these learnings and applied them to how garments are designed. By dressing to the principle of thirds it can help to elongate the body making the silhouette look taller and slimmer, it’s all about proportion.
All Hope garments are designed on a template of thirds to ensure they all work to the principles of the Divine Proportion. Hope are taking a philosophy that is acknowledged as the basis of all truly beautiful design from long ago to present day and applying it to fashion. This is the Hope Code.
I was kindly sent The Asymmetric Knit in black and the cotton stretch ankle grazer pants. The knit is a summer weight, asymmetric shape and is beautifully light to wear, having a slightly longer back to complete a more flattering silhouette which is fabulous as I am well aware I am the largest I have ever been right now. If its keeping my bottom covered then its doing a good job!
The ankle grazers are by far the most comfortable trousers I have ever worn! High waisted, with an elasticated waistband. Stretch cotton twill gives great comfort and recovery, the perfect pant for Summer. Now being a mum of 6, white jeans are not something I would normally choose – chocolate hands and white are a huge no no but for special occasions or days out these are perfect and wash remarkably well! The elastic is a really thick band which sits comfortably high on my waist and doesn’t roll down at all when sitting or travelling, combined with the fact there is no zipper or buttons these pants sit flat and flatter more than normal jeans/trousers.
I have seen a few of these style tops on the market but most either hang badly making the top look shapeless and baggy or are bulky and make me look so much bigger! The Asymmetric knit has a left fitted sleeve which is complemented by a generous side slit cascading from the right cuff. This gives a beautiful waterfall type look to the top which is very flattering.
