Having been a Sky customer now for over 21 years I have my favourite channels that I would be lost without and I know the kids feel the same when it comes to their favourite programmes. I am not one of these parents who limits screen time as I think it can play a big part in development for children if used correctly.
The girls both have a tablet each, upon which they have their favourite games and apps downloaded. We were delighted to be asked to try the Sky Kids App to see how they both got on with using it themselves.
If you are a Sky customer with the Sky Kids pack, you can download the app for free and have all of their favourite tv programmes in one place. Plus it means it frees up the tv for mummy to catch up on The Truth About The Harry Quebert Affair!

The set up was really easy, you download the app and it gives you the option of setting time limits etc. The girls got to pick their own buddy who stays with them while logged in and it is good to know that there is a sleep mode too, meaning I could set it to go off at a certain time and start again in the morning. This means of course they don’t stay awake all night watching programmes, but also means that it will be ready for them without having mummy log in for them before she is ready to wake up – i know a lot of parents who would be happy with this!

Personally I love the diversity of the shows available, Amelia is 4 so really loves Fireman Sam and Blaze & The Monster Machines, where as Evie, 8, loves Sam & Cat and The Thundermans. You can even choose which channel you want to watch if you can’t decide on which programme, there are 17 channels to choose from, everything from Nick Jr to Disney Channel and Cartoon Network!

I love the fact there are LOTS of episodes of each programme and not just one or two. It looks like I’m not the only one who gets sucked into a good box set, with over 5000 different episodes of all their Sky favourites I can see this being an App the girls will use time and time again.

Another great feature is that you can download episodes and keep them for up to 30 days to watch when you have no connection. Great for when you are out and about or in a no wifi area, once the episode is watched it will be deleted within 48 hours.

Overall, we are very impressed with the Sky Kids App and would highly recommend it to everyone (especially parents who need 5 minutes peace!)
XOXO

I have to admit I didn’t know that sky had a kids app! But what a great idea! Wonderful for kids to catch up via!
We love the Sky Kids app, Tigger especially as his younger sister knows that when he has his headphones on not to disturb him. He even pops them on when he is playing games just so she won’t nag him lol
I love that it shows age appropriate content to whoever watching, such a clever idea! x
Oh I’ve not heard of this app before will have to look into it for my youngest. He’s a huge Horrid Henry fan so this would be perfect for him x
I didn’t know they had an app out – good to know! Nice to see why have lots of episodes on all the series.
We too have had sky for years but I have never used this app with my kids before x
I have niece who might love and needs this. I am totally recommending this one.
