When you’re a busy mum, finding ‘me time’ is something that comes WAY down the list…a lot further down the list than it actually should. Looking after children, cooking meals and the day to day routine is something we signed up for but wouldn’t it be nice to have something special to look forward to once in a while….
Well, I have found my little slice of heaven… its on my doorstep and somewhere that is close to my heart too!
Ramside Spa and Fusion Restaurant
In 1999 we were married at Ramside Hall, 17 years ago we became Mr & Mrs long before the Spa was ever thought of as an addition to the Hall. Ramside has recently had a £16 million renovation with £8 million being dedicated to the building and developing of The Spa alone.
With everything from treatment rooms, couples suites and a fully fitted gym to infinity pools, Holistic Health Plans and outdoor hot tubs there is something for everyone!
We all met in the Fusion restaurant for cocktails, which by the way serves the most amazing Asian food. To start we sampled the winter menu which was a Gingerbread cocktail and boy was it a tummy warmer! It was like drinking liquid Yankee candle – delicious and had that distinct gingerbread heat which screamed Christmas! Next up was a Midori Martini which went down rather well and a little too quickly – oops!
We were then informed about the renovations of the hotel and spa and all about the gym memberships. Concidering there are no additional fees for exercise classes, you get a personal trainer who will talk you through the best workout and exercises for your ability and needs plus you can spend all day there if need be – no off peak or on peak times!
Considering we were walking through the gym and spa at what would normally be classes in any other venue as peak time there were still plenty of machines to not feel like you are waiting around, there was amply room to move around and lots of loungers around the pool. The gym has a very impressive outlook over the pools too which meant that it was pure inspiration to get into that swimsuit – just what I need!
We were shown around the treatment rooms and came across my idea of heaven – The Manicure Room!
How fabulous is this wall of nail varnish – how would you choose what colour, I swear I would be there all day!
After seeing what the spa has to offer we headed back to Fusion for what we thought was nibbles!
OH MY WORD!
If there is one type of food I could eat all day every day it would be Asian! The spring rolls, Pad Thai, Dim Sum and even sushi was all laid out for us and boy was it tasty! The pad Thai was amazing and definitely some of the best I have ever tasted. We sat and chatted among ourselves while we ate and tried to work out when would be the soonest we could come back, seriously it is THAT good!
After allowing dinner to settle for all of 2 minutes we headed to get changed into our costumes and hit the pools! We headed straight outside for the hot tub which was by far a highlight with its dim lights and soaring temperature, all of the girls ended up in here at some point and was a firm favourite! We had around 2 hours to spend looking around and sampling what the spa has to offer, I loved the steam room and considering the pool was empty it would be great for stress free exercise!
I know personally that I will definitely be back and cant wait to take hubby for one of the couples packages as our joint Christmas present this year!
Have you ever been to the Ramside Spa? What did you think?
XOXO
Debbie
