It has taken me a long time to realise that when the alarm clock goes off I don’t have to jump straight out of bed. That although the girls are home schooled and we have routine, it doesn’t mean everything has to be rushed anymore. The more relaxed the start to our day, the easier I find it is to get through each one and the earlier I am starting to wake too!
One thing I do find is that having a little something to wake up to, a plan of sorts, keeps me focused and makes me look forward to waking up each morning. I always dreaded going to bed as I knew it would be a few short hours before it all started again. Now though I look forward to my morning routine which involves a little meditation. 10 minutes of reading and a quiet cup of tea in bed.
The girls love that we drink from proper cups and saucers and pour our tea from a my fabulous Atrium teapot too. It makes it that little bit more special as we only ever use these for our breakfast. These are our morning cups and I am hoping the girls will indulge with me for a long time yet in this fairly new tradition I have hopefully started with them.
Sitting in bed on a morning with our tea gives us a chance to plan what we want from the day. I get ideas from the girls with what they would like to do. Then we tie it all in with my work plans and home school routine too. This means that we aren’t wasting time wondering throughout the day what to do next.
We are focused on making the most of our time and it is turning into a very productive solution to our time keeping issues!
I have been lucky enough to be gifted a set of these for a giveaway too. You could win the set of two cups and saucers and teapot from the stunning Atrium range with Portmeirion.
