Considering this week has been half term its flown over – the weeks are going by way too fast as it is and I really can’t believe we are into June already!
I don’t know if its because its been such a busy week or if because of the sunshine the kids have played out side so i haven’t had to listen to the yells of ‘I’M BORED’every two minutes!
We have fit so much into this past week and before we leave the house again to go for a walk with our new YippieYo I wanted to get my #LittleLoves up:
I finished reading The Girls and although its a good book and very descriptive, she certainly has a way with words to draw you in, there was very little happened and I feel there could have been so much more! I felt like I was always waiting for something to happen, it does suck you into the time in which it was set and although there isn’t really any gore you can tell there is an underlying tension building up all the way through.
Next up to read is White Hot Truth (which I have seen promoted in numerous facebook groups im part of) and Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert (Eat, Pray, Love) – I love her writing and adored the whole ethos behind EPL so looking forward to making a start on these!
Scandal as always – got so sucked into it and cried when Olivia handed over the reigns to Quinn. So far I have managed to avoid spoilers for the end of this Season and i know its coming up pretty quick so the blinkers are on when I’m on social media!
I really enjoyed picking up the card making kit again this week to get it all finished off. I have been working on a project for Stampin Up with their new 15 card kit where everything except glue is included and all you need to do is a little ‘follow by numbers’ and voila 15 cards in no time! Love it and will be sharing a post soon about it all!
The weather has been glorious so we have been wearing our summer togs! Thankfully the weather is warm enough now to dig those flip flops out from the back of the cupboard – wohoo British summertime!
SING! If you haven’t seen or at least heard this movie you need to – it is such a feel good movie for kids and we love the soundtrack that goes with it! The gorilla has me swooning each time he sings, honest to God goose bumps from a gorilla which the kids find hilarious – I guess it helps that Taron Egerton voices him! (Yes the teenage tearaway from Kingsman!)
We have had an amazing half term, filled with lot so great things including dinner at Prezzo and Thaikhun, a visit to Dalton park to see the Disney Princesses, the boys had driving lessons, we all got to spend a lot of time together thanks to hubbys shifts working well with the school holidays and that’s what its all about – family time!
XOXO
Debbie
I actually really liked Sing. I though it was a cute little movie! Making cards also seems like a great creative outlet! I haven’t been able to read much from the eat, pray, love author. How many books has she published so far?
Great ideas and ‘to-do’ list. I love Scandal. Loved your post. Hope you had a great week!!
Yes to the summer togs the weather has been amazing hasn’t it! Loving the look of the card making kit too!
I love the sound of the card making kit – anything that is simple yet effective is a winner with me 🙂
I just got hooked on Scandal. It’s such a fun show. Olivia and Fitz’s chemistry is steaming hot.
Sing is great. I saw it in the cinema and got it on blu ray the other day
I wish I had more time to read. I can’t remember the last time I finished a book
I’ve always wanted to make my own cards. I did for my engagement party and 21st birthday party but would like to properly make them for throughout the year too xxx
That book sounds interesting. I’m always looking for new things to read. I’m glad you all had a good half term and got to enjoy this glorious weather.
I love Big Magic so much! You’re going to love it, it was such a refreshing take on a self-help book and it really helped me get inspired!
