Since moving home I now have the pleasure of starting from scratch in somewhere that is my own, not someone elses rented home with someone elses decor and list of do’s and don’ts. This of course in turn means I can do pretty much what I like and decorate it as I wish!
I am going girly!
There I said it.
I have always loved the shabby chic look, there is something blissful about masses of throws, pillows and big comfy sofas that you just sink into. The king size bed that has way too many pillows, the plush curtains that frame the windows and the crystal lighting in every room! I have always been a fan of beautiful lighting too and I think as much as we concentrate on the lower half of each room we really should focus on the main room light too – after all when it starts to get dark the lighting is the main focal point in any room!
I have found the most stunning crystal lighting from Sherwood Lighting and am currently coveting this for my bedroom…
I know it may not seem like a usual choice for a bedroom but I have a huge wooden king size sleigh bed that is centered beneath the light fitting so this would be a fabulous focal point to the whole room! My room is all white and cream so to have the light hitting these crystals and shimmering around the room would make the room look so decadent and glamorous!
In fact I might go all out and have a chandelier in each room, the top of the stairs is a fabulous little landing that is crying out for a drop light and my living room has an antique feel to it with Embley Toile wallpaper so would look amazing with crystal lighting!

As Marilyn Monroe once famously said – Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend….even if they are just dripping from the ceiling!
