My girls love the beach and would spend every day there given half the chance, which is why when we were offered the chance to review the new Kinetic Sand Beach Sand Kingdom I knew they would love it.
Kinetic sand is a mix of sand and magic – honest that is exactly what it feels like when playing with it! It holds its shape and you can actually slice through it, let it drip through your fingers and even make sand ‘balls’ – yes, like snow balls but sand! I mean come on, if that’s not magic then i don’t know what is!
The thing I really love about Kinetic sand is that it is completely mess free. Amelia has tendency to spread what ever she is playing with as far and wide as she can – this of course becomes an issue with the likes of play dough and regular sand. With Kinetic sand it is so easy to pick up, doesn’t stick to the carpet and doesn’t leave any residue on clothing or furniture. The sand won’t dry out if kept in a container but to be honest ours has just been in the box it came in since opening and it is in the same condition as it was the day it arrived.
The box itself transforms into a mini beach scene which can help contain the sand and makes a great back drop for little sand castles and beach scenarios. The kit comes with plenty of tools and castle making apparatus and I love that each one has little ‘feet’ at the bottom which makes turning out your creations simple.
I am already having questions of what other kits are available and do I think Santa might be able to bring more. From the amount of time they have played with this one I think it is definitely something that will be on the Christmas list.
