For some of us, we simply don’t have enough time to actively repair or recycle furniture in our properties. If this is the case for you, then it’s important that anything you are getting rid of is done in a way that makes sure it will be reused or at least recycled.
This can be done in a number of ways. For one, you could ask your previous tenant if they wanted to keep certain pieces of furniture for their next home. As, although you might not have time to upcycle yourself, they might be overjoyed to keep items and give them a new lease of life.
Alternatively, you could always offer to give pieces of furniture and other bric-a-brac from the flat to charity. Just give some local charities a phone and see if they are accepting donations. You could even post online and offer items free for collection – either will save you a lot of hassle and ensure items go to a new home.
