When it comes to selling your home it is a buyers market. It is getting harder to get onto the property ladder but brand new homes seem to sell as soon as they are built. To compete with the new house market there are a few estate agent secrets that you could complete that will, hopefully, help sell your home quicker.

Make sure the house has kerb appeal. If there are broken pots or paving slabs, replace them. Hackney Estate Agents know that first impressions count. No one wants to see a run down home and the outside reflects the upkeep of the inside of the home too. Hanging baskets are a nice way to welcome visitors and really does brighten up an otherwise dull front of house.
Keep the rooms light and bright. A lick of fresh paint in a bright colour will make the room look more open and bigger too. White is always a great base as it gives potential buyers a blank canvas to put their own stamp on. Window dressings pulled open and clean windows are a must. Big mirrors reflect the light and make rooms look larger too so add these where possible.
Remember you are not selling YOUR lifestyle, you are wanting buyers to imagine themselves living there. Declutter as much as possible and try not to have too many photographs or trinkets around the home. People like to imagine what they can put in places when they move in and that is pretty hard to do when every surface and inch of the home is covered.

Flowers and coffee. It may be cliche but fresh flowers make anyone feel welcome. There is something about a vase of fresh flowers that brings life to each room, plants in the bathroom give a luxurious feel too. Coffee brewing when you welcome potential buyers makes them imagine what it would be like to be in the kitchen themselves. Even if you don’t serve coffee, that feeling of ‘home’ is always a welcome one.
Common sense above all is the key. Empty rubbish bins, clear away pet toys and food bowls. Give furniture a spritz of fabric spray and fluff up cushions and rugs. You are selling a lifestyle.
