Since moving I have space in my bedroom now for a desk and storage specifically for work. Now that I am blogging full time I really need to have a space dedicated to housing a PC plus lots of stationery, review items etc that are within easy reach so not ‘out of sight out of mind’!
Along the back wall where the headboard of the bed goes there is ample space to have a decent size desk and I love the look of the ladder storage shelves (which incidentally I would love in the living room to house books but don’t have space!) so when I found a desk in this style from Lions Home I almost jumped for joy!
I love the fact it has lots of shelves which is perfect for the amount of books, diaries, journals and more that I regularly work out of, to have them all within reach would be perfect. The bottom shelves could be used for keeping boxes of receipts and review items safely until I get around to working through them, it is a constant battle to keep on top of items when they are all put away in specific places because you dare not leave them lying around thanks to little hands! At least if they are on my desk the kids know they are off limits!
There is more than enough space for the laptop on the middle shelving/desk section and since I spend most of my time standing to type between school runs and photographing items etc this would be ideal for me as it doesn’t look like it would put too much pressure on my back from bending down either. The remainder of the shelves could house my candles and Wonder Woman Pop Heros figurines – some days they are the inspiration I need to keep on going!
Keeping everything in one place would help too with keeping my bedroom as mainly what it is – a bedroom! There is nothing worse at the minute than trying to get into bed and having to move everything onto the desk I currently use simply because there is no additional storage to the one I have right now. Permanent shelves would look out of place and I love moving my rooms round a little too much for any built in furniture, plus if I do move one day I want to be able to take the whole ensemble with me and this would always make a great addition to the living room to house reading books and more of my candles or even into a kitchen to keep all of the cookbooks and decorative plates etc I use for photography out of the way. I could even use it in the bathroom to house towels and toiletries, it really is super versatile and the fact it has the drop down desk section suits me just fine for now but just look how much use I would get out of it in the future too!
I am even more excited than I was when I started this post as I initially thought of it just as a desk I loved the look of – now I want one in every room of the house!
XOXO
Debbie
