Men are notoriously easy to buy for and dedicated lovers of socks and aftershave, Fathers Day should be sorted early this year – yes?
Was that a resounding No?!
Well it would be a no here too as I hate buying for men full stop and that includes each of my 4 sons too, I don’t know what it is that gives me a mental block when it comes to shopping for them and I tend to stick to the same kinds of pressies…. socks, sweat proof shirts, undies, beer and smellies!
This year I decided to go all out and see if I could find something different to the usual gifts and have included some of my favourites below!
Personalised items including pictures that daddy can put up in his office are ideal as they are a keepsake that will last forever. This superhero image from Find Me A Gift can be personalised with 6 pieces of information about Dad then finish with a heartwarming message direct from the children. Priced from £9.99

Not going to give too much away as I know he is an avid stalker of my blog but I really think hubby is going to be more than happy with his gift from the girls this year!

Every good office has a great printer and with us being a huge scrapbook and photo family we have had our fair share! This compact all in one Epson XP 960 printer has a 10.9cm screen which makes everything so simple at the touch of a button. Epson’s six-colour Claria Photo HD Ink is the ink of choice for long lasting photographs on up to A3 paper! The one thing that makes this perfect for use in Stuarts office is the fact it has mobile printing so he doesn’t even need to be in the office at the time, he can email documents straight to the printer! rrp: £249.99

Ever since watching Joey on Friends try to rock the man-bag I have loved the new creations and the acceptance that, yes actually men do need bags too. Not only are they practical but fashionable now too and Moleskine have just launched its latest bag range, the Nomad Collection. Encompassing some of the distinguishing features of the legendary Moleskine notebook, like the signature “in case of loss” label and rounded edges, the collection is perfect for those who like to venture out and explore. My favourite is the messenger bag as it is ideal for slipping in a notebook, pens and Macbook or smaller laptop/tablet. rrp: £99

Being constantly on the go in the modern world means you always need technology with you wherever you go. One of the thing I have found invaluable is a decent powerbank to keep my phone etc charged at all times. Knowing how much I use mine made this an easy choice for daddy as his phone is always running out of battery!
One of the fastest and most reliable mobile rechargers available, the FP10MB mobile powerbank is perfect if staying connected is essential. With a sleek aluminium finish casing, the high capacity powerbank (10,000mAH) has the power to fully recharge a smartphone up to four times; letting you continue to communicate, make business calls, email, and message, all without ever losing connection! The quick-charge input also means that the powerbank can be recharged and ready to go in just 4.5 hours. The dual outputs also means that you can easily recharge two devices at the same time, and with the intensive safety features you can do so without fear of over-heating or over-charging. rrp: £35.00
Being a gadget lover I just know the Task P36 Durable is perfect for him to keep in a pocket or toolbox. This torch has a lumen output^ 300 – 25 lm, 3 brightness levels plus strobe to suit different applications and needs, a comfortable one-handed focus system and an advanced half press switch for momentary-on. rrp: £34.99

Stuart has always loved being in the kitchen so what better for the man that loves to cook than a new cookbook and Superfast Thermapen 4! With BBQ season upon us too and no one wanting a visit to A&E with food poisoning this fabulous essential piece of kit will keep him in good graces all year round. The SuperFast Thermapen® 4 is made in Britain by ETI Ltd and has fast become a kitchen essential for many-well-known chefs and professional cooks. It features a reduced tip probe for easy measurement and can be used to test the temperature of barbecued meats, providing an accurate reading in just three seconds!
The Thermapen 4 includes a patented 360° self-rotating display that can be used in any position, in either hand; it has a waterproof case and includes `Biomaster’ additive that reduces bacterial growth. Priced at £64.80.

Stuart is a huge biscuit fan and often tells the girls he use to take a whole pack of biscuits up to his bedroom when he was younger and devour the whole lot – things haven’t changed much and what better for a biscuit lover than a decadent box of Elizabeth Shaw cookies. Elizabeth Shaw is obviously best known for the mint crisps we usually buy at Christmas so I have high hopes for these! RRP £1.79 from Tesco and Sainsburys. These delicious biscuits come in four flavours and are perfect for sharing and gifting: Raisin & Hazelnut, Coconut & Hazelnut, Raisin & Cocoa & Mint & Cocoa.

Second to biscuits in the love of his life is cheese! ANY cheese as long as its good ‘proper’ cheese as he calls it, and what could be better than a Snowdonia Cheese duo which are a limited edition of 2 wheels of cheese presented on a slate serving board. The Snowdonia Cheese Company was set up in 2001 with the sole purpose of creating a new and premium, luxury range of cheeses! Personally I could eat these both in one sitting with some water biscuits and a little chutney but I have a feeling I might be banned from nibbling at these ones! rrp: £11

As a huge lover of coffee there is nothing better in the Summer than an ice cold glass of fresh coffee. Knowing how hubby loves to grind his own coffee beans this OXO Good Grips Cold Brew Coffee Maker is the ideal gift for the man that has everything. Cold brewed coffee is less acidic and bitter than coffee brewed with hot water and stays fresher longer. Add the grounds and water and let steep overnight for a intense coffee hit in the morning! rrp: £45

The award winning Ultimate Collection by luxury chocolatier, Lily O’Brien’s, comes with a beautiful blue ribbon and bow so you don’t need to worry about decorative touches. Each box contains 16 delectable chocolates using ten recipes guaranteed to impress Dad this year. The recipes include Sticky Toffee, Praline Perfection, Caramel Macchiato, Lemon Meringue Pie, Death by Chocolate, Le Crunch Chocolate, Zesty Orange Chocolate, Hazelnut O’Brien, Double Chocolate Truffle and Simply Chocolate. The Ultimate Collection 220g costs £7 at Tesco.

Since we have the bbq and Thermapen I suppose its only right that we christen daddy the BBQ King – how fabulous is this apron that can be embellished with whatever sentiment you wish! The apron is full of useful information: cooking times for a variety of meat, fish and vegetables, BBQ tips and tricks and some summertime cocktails to get the party started. Available from The Letteroom and priced at £24.95 it is the ideal gift for the keen BBQ fan at home – what is better than a huge ego boost for your cooking! I know someone who will love this!

The Glenlivet has unveiled its latest addition to the range; The Glenlivet Code. Inspired by the iconic British Code breakers, this mysterious Single Malt Scotch whisky is released without any cask information or tasting notes, putting whisky fans’ senses to the ultimate test by pushing the boundaries of flavour exploration.
Presented in a premium opaque black bottle, The Glenlivet Code is crafted from specially selected casks that have never before been used by The Glenlivet. Code will offer a totally new flavour experience, whilst staying true to the flawlessly smooth and fruity flavour that has made the distillery famous. rrp: £100

If you are looking for something a little special then a watch is always a good choice and the perfect accessory you can guarantee a loved one will wear (unlike cufflinks I bought years back that are still in their box!) The Krug-Baümen Principle Classic Men’s Chronograph Watch 2011KM is a timeless classic that will work with any outfit, is water resistant and is a beautifully soft leather strapped watch. Priced at £520

Everyone loves a pamper, including men! Taking care of yourself is not just a metrosexual thing to do and is just basic hygiene so I think a staple for every gift opportunity is a toiletry set. This Dove gift set contains the essentials for a clean and comfortable start to the day. Including Clean Comfort Body & Face Wash and Clean Comfort antiperspirant, the range helps to hydrate skin to leave it healthy and protected against dryness. The highly effective formula rinses off easily to deliver a refreshing clean and total skin comfort but is also gentle enough to cleanse the face as well as the body. rp: £7 from Tesco

Having a husband and 3 sons who all need their hair cutting on a regular basis – why does that happen and why can’t mine grow as fast – it works out so much cheaper to do maintainance at home. A quick clip around the hairline and trim to the eyebrows and nose hair too is something that should be done at home and not in public sitting in a chair for everyone to see – eww, ain’t no one got time for that! ha This Braun Face & Head 8 in 1 Precision Control gift set is ideal for keeping those barber visits limited! rrp: £44.99
The new Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5 Sense razor will do the thinking for him thanks to shock-absorb technology which auto-adjusts the amount of pressure it is putting on your face. Giving him the ultimate customised shave. It would be great if you could consider including Wilkinson Sword in your Father’s Day round up! rrp: £7.99

Every man I have ever known loves Star Wars – simple! Stuart is exactly the same and completely obsessed with the movies and memorabilia so when I came across this Star Wars Dressing Gown it was a no brainer, there is a galaxy or jedi version but I love the black velvet feel of the galaxy one. The oversize hood and extra length make it ideal for the good old British weather and boys being boys they can pretend they are off to save the world when wearing it. Currently reduced to £15 at Argos too! Bargain!

We are concentrating on getting the garden sorted and its all the little bits that work out expensive so getting something like this as a gift is one thing you don’t have to fork out for later! As we are keeping our eyes out on ebay etc for a second hand shed I can see it needing some maintenance so this set would be ideal to get outdoors with on a weekend. Products from Harris Brushes can be bought from Wickes, Homebase, B&M, Robert Dyas and other selected independent retailers.

If you regularly read my blog you will know we love Jumbo puzzles here, any jigsaw is a good jigsaw and as hubby is an avid fan of F1 this Legends of the Track 1000 piece puzzle will keep daddy occupied when he is bored. Featuring lots of old cars and fashion this is definitely a one for a lazy Sunday afternoon. rrp: £11.99

I really hope this has given you some ideas of how to spoil the main man in your life – daddy deserves a day off too! 🙂
Happy Fathers Day!
XOXO
Debbie
