When we talk about denim it doesn’t have to mean jeans. It could be something as simple as a denim skirt or fancy shift dress. Personally I love wearing a denim jacket with my long summery dresses!
There is something about the structure of a denim jacket creating a solid silhouette against the ‘floaty-ness’ (is that a word!) of a light floral summer dress.
Having given the denim jacket a modern makeover in a softer, slightly stretchy cotton-rich denim, Cotton Traders have created a must have jacket for spring summer season.
The soft cotton rich denim is super comfortable to wear all night long. The long sleeves and button fastening cuffs with slits mean you can roll them up for a casual laid back look. The jacket features stud buttons throughout and front welt pockets as well as patch pockets with flaps to the chest.
Machine Washable, 98% Cotton 2% Elastane, Length approx 21.5″ (55cm) I am a size 16 dress but bought a 14 in the jacket as I always seem to need to size down in coats etc.
In the past I have worn more of a stonewash so this was my first foray into dark denim and I have to admit I love it! I think the fact it looks so amazing on the fabulous Alex Jones on the Cotton Traders website was what sold it to me!

Along with the dress I was kindly sent this beautiful must have Print Midi Shirt Dress. Available in sizes 8 – 22 this dress is the perfect length for spring/summer date nights. There is a choice of 3 all over prints which are available in midi and maxi length.. Being 5ft 1 the midi is the perfect length for me.
The dress is button through front with elastication to the back of the waist for comfort. Just like the jacket, the long sleeves have button fastenings meaning you can roll them up to give a less formal look.
The best thing about this dress… IT HAS POCKETS! If you ask any woman what she wants in a dress you can guarantee within the top 3 things she will list pockets!
Machine Washable, 100% Polyester, Length approx 43.5″ (110cm) Priced at £48 this is a must have for the coming seasons.
