Having rehomed Poppy and Panda this year we are all a little doggy mad here so with this being their first Christmas you can bet they will be celebrating with the rest of us. Daddy has a new kitten called Ollie so we wouldn’t leave him out either, I hope the following give you a couple of ideas of presents that are not only practical but a real treat for your four legged family members too!
A fresh supply of water is essential with any pet and I love that this Drinkwell Pagoda Pet fountain creates a continuous flow of fresh water for the dogs. I really thought it would be like one of those decorative water fountains you have in your home that constantly make you need the loo but thankfully this one makes next to no noise and is great for reminding the dogs to keep hydrated! rrp: £75.99
Although Poppy is on a strict diet I am sure she will be allowed some treats at Christmas. This Christmas Dinner Treat Tube from Pooch & Mutt combines a blend of turkey, parsnips, stuffing, peas and gravy for a delicious authentic festive flavour. Ethical and natural, each treat is only three calories, so dogs can enjoy Christmas with all the trimmings. (And no sprouts!) rrp: £3.00 from Amazon, Pets at Home etc.
The girls spend hours pulling around little pieces of wool and string for Ollie to chase so when we saw this FroliCat squirrel tail we knew it was a must! No more scratched fingers or pounced on hands, this way Ollie can get a good run around chasing after the tail to his hearts content. The tail will wag around, popping in and out of the machine, after 10 minutes of playtime, the toy will automatically shut off to let your cat rest, and it can be turned back on at any time. Hold down the power button to turn on “Play While You Are Away” mode. This mode turns the toy on for 10 minutes every two hours. After three 10-minute play times, the toy will shut off until you turn it back on. rrp: £33.00 available from Pets at Home
After mopping up the floor for the fifteenth time I went in search of a solution to the ever moving water/food bowl that Poppy nudges around the kitchen (although I have to say the floor has never looked cleaner!) In my search I came across this fabulous weighted water bowl that is going to get wrapped up and adorned with a bow for our big bowl pushing pooch! With Poppy getting older too I love the fact that this is elevated meaning she doesn’t have to reach so far for a drink. The base can be filled with water or sand and helps stop the age old problem of the bowl shifting while dogs are eating or drinking. rrp: £24.99 from PetWeighter
