Family is important and when we were given the chance to take part in the #ShareTheLove project with Fairfield Care to take my mum for afternoon tea with the girls we were all delighted!
We chose a local tea shop and garden centre, The Lions Den Tearooms and prebooked afternoon tea for both myself and mum and mini tea for Amelia and Evie. When we arrived we spent a little time looking around the garden section first before heading indoors for cake and coffee.
My mum has more of a social life than I do and we tend to have to co ordinate schedules to be able to meet up so this was such a treat to be able to spend time together as 3 generations.
My mum is not your average great granny either with more stamina than most of us put together, she is always on the go and is the first person to help anyone else out.
Unfortunately not all older people (sorry mum not calling you old honest!) have the same get capablity and it is so important to spend time making sure the older generations always have someone to rely on – it takes a small time each week to call in and let them know they are loved.
This is especially important if they are incapable of leaving their homes and dont have regular contact with anyone else.
The girls loved the fact they could share their first afternoon tea with Nana, they even got their own little displays of cake and sandwiches etc.
We all thoroughly enjoyed spending time together and it is so important that the girls know how to show love and care for family, they are the only ones who will be there through anything and everything. This is part of a campaign to end loneliness and about getting involved in not only helping elderly family members but also neighbours that may be alone too.
XOXO

We were provided with vouchers for Afternoon tea as part of this campaign with Fairfield Care. All views and opinions are my own.
It is very important that we always care for our older generations and make sure that they are looked after. It doesn’t take much effort to spend some time with someone who might not otherwise have any contact with others, but that small act will mean the world to that person.
What a lovely thing to do- the food looks amnazing. I usually just go to my grandparents house, but I think my gran really likes it when we make an effort and go out somewhere.
Love your post!! It is very important to spend time with your loved ones! I love the idea of #ShareTheLove project and I bet your mum really enjoyed the afternoon.
End the loneliness is so important and I’m glad all 3 generations had a good day. The mini afternoon is so cute x
Aw this was so sweet and I am a big advocate of ending the loneliness, I just dont think many people are aware and of course it isn’t just the elderly x
This is so so sweet. There is nothing better or more important than family!
It’s nice that you give time to your family. Simple bonding would definitely mean a lot and makes you more bonded to each other.
