I don’t know about you but the only thing getting me through this shambles of a Spring is the promise of all the sunshine that is meant to be heading our way this summer! I’ve heard tales of heatwaves and gloriously long summer days filled with nothing but sunshine and ice cream so I am waiting for a few dry days in which we can get outside and start prepping for Summer!
Having taken a real liking (OK, more of an obsession!) with gardening programmes at the minute I am itching to get outside and make a start on our garden. We moved in last August and since then the weather hasn’t been nice enough to actually do anything in the garden and when the days were nice I was busy working on getting the inside done so catch 22!
This year is the year of the garden, I want to have a veggie patch and wild flower area, a separate play section for the girls and then of course somewhere to sit. The idea of a pergola is appealing to me as I love the thought of sitting under a clematis filled canopy whilst sipping wine as the night draws in. We have been looking for garden furniture and are still to settle on what we love but so far I am thinking corner set and table rather than formal dining as more often than not its just me and the girls.
Having a corner seating area makes it cosy too for snuggling up to under the stars so I think something like the Rome Corner Suite from BoConcept would be amazing as it really does look like a living room seating area rather than the plastic/rattan furniture usually used outdoors. I love the fact it has an additional area next to one of the seats which would be an ideal setting point for magazines or even a planter filled with lavender (how relaxing would it be to sit and take in the scent!)

To go with the corner sofa I think a small glass coffee table would work well, not too big but enough so that the girls can have their drinks outside with me and a plate of cookies or cakes!

Obviously due to the fact we live in the UK and we have more wet days than dry its good to know there is a protective cover available for the corner suite so that would be a must! I love the idea of living in the USA where they can have their furniture left out all year round and the only thing they need to worry about is sun bleaching – I don’t think I have ever had that problem here! lol If you love the look of these for your garden check out their furniture stores in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

I can’t wait to see how our garden turns out and hopefully by the time summer is in full swing we will be sitting outside sipping on a cocktail and wondering what all the fuss was about!
XOXO
Debbie
