Moving to a new area means that there is lots of exploring to do! Thankfully because I have moved back to the village I grew up in from the age of 8 I know the place quite well so can remember short cuts and points of interest to show the kids.
So far we have been on nature hunts and ‘discovered’ 3 new parks, found some fabulous lakes we can wander around to our hearts content and of course shops within walking distance. When I say walking distance I mean 30 minutes which for me is fine but not so much for little legs! The kids have taken to bringing their scooters with them when we go out now as they know its not going to be a 5 minute walk then home again.

I am on a major health kick so trying to pack in as much walking as possible, considering the school is 15 minutes walk away too I should be fit in no time! The kids love scooting along beside me and I am even concidering getting myself one to keep up with them. I will add one like this fabulous Sugar Rush from Skate Hut to my Christmas wishlist!

Amelia has just reviewed a new glide scooter so she is sorted but both Evie and Ethan are working with ones that are a couple of years old so seen better days so I can see new ones being top of their lists too. We are lucky in that the area is quite hilly so the kids can pick up a little speed – what kid doesn’t love flying around having races and we are always clear that they must have their helmets no too. You can never be too careful and all the top scooting pros wear helmets so its not just safe its cool too – can you tell I’ve used that sentence before!

Now that the weather is getting colder though we need to make a start collecting pine cones ready to decorate for winter – last year we collected so many of them and spray painted them gold for table decor over Christmas. The girls are also keen to do leaf painting too so we will be heading out this weekend to collect some of the leaves that are starting to fall.
What are you up to this weekend?
XOXO
Debbie
