One of the main attractions of summer for me is the chance to be outdoors with the kids, I love nothing more than hearing them giggle and play, running up and down the garden squirting water pistols and generally acting like they dont have a care in the world!
Last year we got our dining table and chairs sorted for outdoors and this year we want to concentrate on something for the kids, of course with the girls growing and the boys being too big for actual toys in the garden there are a couple of conditions we had given ourselves before we started our search for the ideal play house!
- It has to be movable so that we can take it with us when we leave, living in rented means having things that dont need to be left behind – this is a huge point before buying anything!
- Something that can grow with the children, now we have Milo (grandson) we would like something that will do from birth to pre teen.
- Multifunctional – we have had slides, swings etc and this time we want something that more than one can play on/in instead of the usual arguments about whos turn it is!
- We want something that doesn’t look like a kids toy, something that looks as though it has been there for years and will still look great in years to come, we find that the ideal playhouse has to be wooden and not plastic, something build to last!
Having looked for a while at summerhouses we were recommended to view the Fort Thornbill Playhouse from GBC Group.
How amazing does this look and if the kids get tired of it i think i might be inclined to move in there myself – it has an integral bunk bed, acrylic Georgian shed windows, window boxes and shutters, solid timber roof and even double garage doors!
Can you imagine sitting in there as a child and flinging those doors open for the summer! How cute would those windows look with handmade curtains and imagine the freedom you would feel sleeping out under the stars in your own little minature home away from home – at the bottom of the garden!
This is seriously like my dream home shrunken down and I just know both the girls and Milo would spend many a happy hour playing in and around this fabulous playhouse!
As well as play houses, GBC Group also design and make summer houses, log cabins and garden offices! Hmmm, I can just imagine blogging in the sunshine, I wonder if we could fit an office in the garden too…
