Anyone with children knows that the most important lessons we can teach as parents is for them to be safe. From safety in the home to safety out in the big wide world and everything in between, road safety is a huge issue with so many cars on the roads these days and kids need to be taught road etiquette.
Accident Advice Helpline have created an interactive quiz with questions to help teach children about road safety. I have to admit that I did do the quiz by myself first before asking the kids to take part and I got 2 questions wrong!! HOW THE HECK!! I have always thought that when there was no path you walked in the same direction as traffic – apparently that is wrong!
There is obviously some brushing up I need to do too so this couldn’t have come into my inbox at a better time!
I like to think that my children know rights from wrongs and would be able to go out there and look out for themselves but getting two questions wrong myself meant that I was really looking forward to how many the kids would know!
First up was Evie, she loved the graphics and the fact there were pop up questions that she could click on the answers herself. The images are very child friendly and although some of the options are obvious there are some that really do make you think, the question she got wrong was the same as one of mine in that you don’t cross when the green man is flashing. Living in the times where everything has to be done NOW I often forget that you are meant to wait yes as soon as that green man is there I’m off! Bad example for the children and we will make sure we will wait from now on.
If you have children, heck even if you don’t I urge you to check out the questionnaire to see just how clued up on road safety you are too!
XOXO
