Living in a house with girls who love any kind of chocolate makes it hard for me to have something of my own! I’m not the sneak away and eat it kind of person so I tend to just stump up the goods and do without. It’s what mums do right?
Well sometimes there is a little something that makes you break all the rules! For me that is brownies.
I was kindly sent a box of letterbox brownies from the lovely people over at Cake Stories in Jesmond. Not only is this a local business but it has my whole ethos at the heart of it! Family, friends and people just being together. Its about bringing joy to someone, helping someone feel good and just letting them know you see them, you care and heck, what says that better than cake!
Cake Stories bake close to 100 different varieties and flavours of cake with new creations added frequently. The best thing is they are sent in letterbox form so that no one needs to wait in for delivery or even know they are arriving until that hunk of love lands on the doormat!
They also have a store in Jesmond that opened in 2015 which serves food and drink and is open 7 days a week.
Cake Stories website is a hive of deliciousness and you will come away wanting to try at least one of everything. Personally I head straight for anything Salted Caramel so their gooey Salted Caramel Brownie is always top of my list. Dense chocolate cake with a hit of salty goodness.
I do tell little white lies when I need to and you best believe the kids think these are full of things only grown ups are allowed. I’m not sharing them with anyone! I’m sure I’m not the only one that has used that excuse before and won’t be the last!
