Now that Evie is 10 she is starting to get an interest in make up but still very much a girly girl. She collects LOL Dolls and is more than happy playing with Lego etc. When we were given the option of reviewing the new Shimmer n Sparkle Instaglam dolls she jumped at the chance.
The dolls are from Character Options and there are 4 character. Evie, Nina, Luna and Hayley. She was so excited to review her namesake!
The dolls are attached to a little platform but can easily be removed for play. Inside their heads is a compact and make up. Simply flip the hair and voila – instant cosmetics!
Inside each head is a mini mirror, a make up palette which houses 2 lipglosses, 2 eyeshadows and a lipstick. These then remove to reveal a mini hair brush and sponge make up applicator.
Each doll comes with a different palette so you can be assured you wont have duplicates. The pigment in the palettes too is soft so nothing that is going to cause too much trouble should it get on clothes or bedding etc.
I have never been one of those mothers who refuse to let their children use make up or play dress up etc. As I mentioned above the colours are not over powering and it is a lot less stressful than letting her lose on my make up bag!
I think the dolls are a great take on the usual make up palettes and add a little more interactive fun. The dolls themselves have glittery lipstick and eyeshadow which can be removed with water. Be aware though this does not reappear so once removed that’s it. Little ones could have lots of fun doing the dolls make up to match their own.
