By now you know I don’t do things by halves. Our latest escapades prove that point.
Due to a lot of trouble in the neighbourhood we decided two weeks before Christmas that we were getting the hell out of dodge! I knew what I wanted, knew the kind of place I wanted and where I wanted to be.
You know I am a huge believer in trusting the universe so I set out with the view of moving as quickly and as painlessly as possible.
I made arrangements to view one place and wasn’t having positive vibes so cancelled and arranged another on a whim. I would never have normally looked at an apartment or maisonette but for some reason this one popped up and I arranged a view 2 days later.
We came to view one apartment, it was lovely but I wasn’t having the feeling I knew I would when it was totally right. The estate agent told us about another one in the same building and that he could show us around. We walked in and the first words out of my mouth were ‘this is it’.
The girls excitedly ran around the large hallway and we were planning where to put the Christmas tree before we had even viewed the other rooms.
Everything happened so quickly and we moved in on the weekend before Christmas. Yup, 6 days before!
It was manic and my ex and the boys were an absolute Godsend all weekend. Helping to move the bigger items, packing boxes and vans etc. Lifting an American fridge freezer up flights of stairs – yes I will get straps for next time Stuart!
Overall best move we have made and we love it here. Shops across the road, 20 minute walk into town and no garden to tend to either!
Now just to make it more our home with little touches, pictures on the walls etc. This right now is home and it feels so peaceful with it too.
