Having blogged before about my love of accessories and the fact I have a couple of watches you can imagine how excited I was to review a wooden watch from Yakwood – yes you read that right! A WOODEN WATCH!
I had never heard of this before so was intrigued with how it would look and feel so set about trying to pick one that I thought would look quite feminine at the same time as being practical and able to wear with anything. After opting for the Yakwood Circle Two Tone Wooden Watch I sat back and waited for it to arrive wondering how the heck a wooden watch would feel to wear…would it be clunky and uncomfortable, would it give me splinters! Obviously my fears were unfounded when I received the parcel and saw the beautifully handcrafted watch inside.
The watch itself is so light it weighs almost nothing so is a real delight to wear after having rather clunky gem encrusted watches for the past few years. Rather than looking cumbersome it looks quite delicate and with a Quartz face you know it is going to be quality too.
The watch was slightly too large for my wrist but was simple to shorted with the tools included, simply pop out the bars and readjust. I only needed to take out one of the bars from one side but it still sits perfectly on my wrist. The clasp is a folding one that clips into place and takes a little force to undo so there is no worry about it falling off while out and about.
Yakwood also make wooden sunglasses and pocket watches too, this has opened my mind to looking at goods with an alternative material. I have had nothing but compliments each time I have worn the watch and I think that is due to the unique colouring of the two tone wood used.
XOXO

I was sent this watch for the purpose of the review, all views and opinions are my own and genuine.
