What a month we have had! July was officially the start of school holidays, the first since we started home school so I wasnt anticipating it to be much different to normal as we would carry on with the child led learning but just omit the sitting down with work books. However, the girls have surprised me by asking to do work some days, I think they are loving the freedom to learn as they want to and the fun has been put back into it – bonus!
This month we have had so much happen that I really wanted to do a little diary update, my blog seems to have taken a bit of a detour lately and I want to get it back on track with more personal posts too. I love that you all still read my posts and support me, blogging full time means I get to do what I love and spend all day with the children too. Your support means that I can do this so comments and interaction with sponsored posts and ads means that I can carry on doing what works for my little family and for that I want to say a huge thank you!
We started July with a trip away to the beach followed swiftly by a weekend away at Matfen Hall, it has been so long since we had a holiday of any kind so a break from the norm for the weekend was such a treat!
The weather has been amazing so we have taken full advantage and had water fights, days at the park playing football and generally spent a LOT of time outdoors. We all have tans and everyone keeps asking if we have been on holiday – nope just enjoying life!
We tried something new this month, cricket! Having never been to a match before we attended the T20 game at Durham Emirates ground, the girls enjoyed it but I am still no clearer on the rules so may just skip it next time and let Daddy do the visit!
Nana celebrated her 95th Birthday so we all got to spend some time with family, the party was beautiful and such a great day with everyone – slip n slide again and yep my mother just couldn’t resist it to many giggles from the kids! I got to see how much my beautiful grandkids have grown – E is such a cutie and had everyone captivated with her smiles!
We have had days out at Newcastle, sampling food at Revolution de Cuba, days at the seaside including Seaham Carnival. Eating hallumi fries and spending all our pennies on fairground rides before walking along the beach to rockpools.
As we head into August we have so much more planned and for once I can honestly say I can’t wait to cram in as much as possible. September we have a mini break planned, it is BlogOn Christmas weekend and its my birthday month so we have a busy couple of months ahead – bring it on!
XOXO
