It doesn’t seem two minutes since we were prepping for Evie starting school and here we are facing 6 weeks of holidays before she moves up to year 2! She seems to have growth spurts and went from age 4 to age 6 in a flash which makes things a little difficult when buying clothes, age 4/5 and 5/6 is too small yet 6/7 or 7/8 are too big! She has height on her side but is a really small frame so things that fit length wise completely swamp her round her tummy etc. On the flip side of that though, things that tend to fit around her frame are way too short!
When we were offered the chance to review some Trutex school wear we thought this might be the answer to our prayers since the pinafores go up in years and not between sizes if that makes sense! We chose a white polo shirt age 5/6, grey embroidered pinafore age 6 and red cardigan age 5/6. As you can see by the pictures the pinafore was just as we guessed and a perfect fit. Nicely fitted around her chest and tummy yet long enough to be below her knees. The age 5/6 polo shirt and cardigan – again this is a troublesome size for Evie but the polo shirt fit perfectly yet the cardigan was a shade too small so we could have ideally gone up a size.
The quality of all the garments is second to non and even after being dropped on her bedroom floor overnight were crease free and ready to be worn the following morning! The polo shirt is so much better quality than supermarket versions and I can see this lasting an awful lot longer too. The cardigan is great quality, really thick and soft with a lovely wool feel to it which I am sure will keep its shape once washed.
Having spent a fortune on uniform pieces over the past year for her (namely supermarket cardigans that develop holes under the arms after 1 weeks wear!!) I will be investing in a few key pieces to kit Evie out for her new year at school.
Trutex have been supplying school uniforms for over 150 years and are a leading household name in their field.
We were sent 3 pieces for purpose of a review. All opinions are my own and genuine.
For those who prefer a more traditional home-like experience when on vacation, a timeshare can make sense. If you’ve gotten many years of good use out of your timeshare and now want to get rid of it, a timeshare cancellation company like Timeshare Freedom Group or Lonestar transfer may be able to help.
