For as long as I can remember I have loved anything with my name or family name on it, whether it be pencils and rulers when I was little, to embossed drinking glasses and cheeseboards now that I am older.
With the fact that I am soon to be moving home (again) on the horizon I have picked out a few pieces from my favourite store, The Personalised Gift Shop, who I have worked with in the past regarding items sent to me for gift guides. However the following items are things that I will be purchasing myself when I get the keys to the new house!
I love the idea of a welcome sign that can hang outside and introduce our home to visitors, this fabulous rustic log sign can be personalised with up to 3 lines of text. A little slice of the countryside welcoming friends to my new home and I adore the Fresh Eggs Here sign that would work fabulously above the chicken coop!
One thing I am wanting to do is get the girls into their own rooms straight away, my room can wait to be decorated but I feel it is best to have a solid foundation for the girls to feel comfortable in new surroundings. I have picked out a couple of pieces for the bedroom walls and adore this personalised framed poster which shows exactly who the princess in the family is! (Obviously with the name Evangeline!)
Something I plan on really getting stuck into is the garden, I make a vow each year to be more green fingered but it never happens. This way I am thinking if its something I have to start from scratch and can design myself then I may keep up with it, and we are promised a fabulous summer this year too! This super cute Grandmas Garden birdbox will be perfect for keeping M and E occupied when out in the garden, having two grandchildren means that I hope to spend the summer having BBQs and all of the family around lots!
Finally and last but not least, what kind of grandma would I be if I didn’t have a personalised cookie jar to treat the kids when they visit! I would hope it means that I could hide goodies in there for me too and the kids wouldn’t go looking, preferring to wait for me to hand them out. Who am I kidding though?!
The list is endless though and I will no doubt have more to share once I actually get moved. The thought of starting again fills me with excitement more than dread, the smell of fresh paint, all of the work involved to make it my own…and then of course comes the best bit, adding all of the parts that make a house a home.
XOXO
Debbie
I have worked with The Personalised Gift Shop in the past, however this post is not sponsored or a collaboration. I was not paid to post this, I was simply making a rather exciting shopping list! lol
I love personalised things too. Those are lovely ideas. Apart from having a welcome sign at the front of your house, you could always give it a name. We did this when we moved in and have a personalised sign 🙂
That birdhouse looks like the newer version to the three we have hanging in our garden – two of which are used every year by families of blue tits. We love listening to them tweeting away inside, and were once lucky enough to watch the little ones fledge – amazing. And they come back every year!
