We were kindly sent the Shamballa Fire Jewelry kit by My Style Craft to make with the children. Evie adores everything sparkly so although branded at age 8 she was eager to give this one a go – we did get it for Ethan (11) to try and make some of the more male orientated pieces but he gave up half way through his first bracelet after taking it apart a million times!
Inside the kit are enough pieces to make 5 projects including bracelets, necklaces and ear rings. All of the jewelry made is on point and what is in the shops at the moment so will appeal to children who want to have up to the moment jewelry without parents forking out a fortune for them!
I have to admit though, it isn’t easy! I struggled with it myself when helping Evie and think age 8 is a little too young, patience is thin at that age and this takes a decent amount of co ordination and patience in equal measures!
After 2 days we managed one of the single bead bracelets and had to call it quits with regards to making more bracelets! The kids hearts weren’t in it and to be honest it took that long to make the one we had we were just grateful to have gotten that far!
The earrings are however next on the list as they are a simple ball and loop which I am sure we can manage! Don’t get me wrong the pieces are beautiful when completed and others may find this an amazing project – unfortunately it was aimed at kids and mine just didn’t have the co ordination to make them.
Overall at £11.99 for the kit which can make 5 projects it is worth the money…if you have the co ordination to make them!
XOXO
Debbie
