For as long as I can remember I have collected different things, dressed up Winnie The Pooh, TY beanie bears etc, I keep saying I have addictive personality as I love collecting things/any things! lol Then when the inevitable boredom sets in and I feel like the need for a change I have always turned to Ebay to help me sell on the unwanted items.
It has been a few years since I last used Ebay so when Mumsnet gave me the chance to find out just how easy listing items now is I thought it was an ideal opportunity to get rid of some of the bits lying around in the run up to Christmas – anything to earn extra pennies in the run up right?!
The listing process is 4 simple steps. Of course, the more information you provide, the more helpful it is to the potential buyer:
*Snap it* – Treat the pic of your item like a selfie. Have good lighting and make sure you take several shots.
*Write it* – Use keywords to write a description of your item that is interesting, informative, and of course, honest!
*Price it* – Have you got a price in mind? Choose buy it now. If not, have fun with it and see what you can make with an auction style sale.
*Post it* – Want them to come to you? Choose local pick up. Happy to post it? Then do exactly that.
I listed two items that were too large to post so advertised for local pick up only and was actually pleasantly surprised to receive an offer for less than a buy it now price i put on the item. I did go back with a counter offer which is a fabulous thing to be able to do instead out outright refusing as it leaves room for you to communicate with potential buyers before they commit!
Overall I have re-found my love of Ebay and with it being so much easier to work now I will definitely be having a clear out of all the bits and pieces we no longer need!
Simples!
