Evie has always wanted to go for riding lessons so imagine her delight when we moved across the road from some stables. It is where my sister learned to ride when she was young and I promised I would take Evie there so she could start lessons too. Sadly though we called and they no longer provide lessons, just housing for others horses. I had one very unhappy girl on my hand but thankfully she is a little trooper and we have promised we will find another further afield.
You can imagine her delight though when Petplan Equine Horse Insurance got in touch for her to design her dream horse – this campaign was made me for her! She set about drawing and colouring her horse which of course had to have a unicorn horn and flowers on its legs.
The girly touches matter to Evie so she is always picking out flowers, sparkles and glitter!
The horse had to of course be pink but was given a blue mane and brown saddle, she did mention that the skin was glittery but i think that might have been a stretch too far for the creator!
As you can imagine Evies horse is now one of her most loved soft toys, I think bringing childrens creations to life is such a fabulous thing to do as it encourages their imagination and show that anything can come true.
Evie is thrilled with her horse and I have tried to explain that for now it is a lot cheaper than having the real thing!
Of course having a horse is not all sparkles and glitter and that is where Petplan Equine come into their own. They have been the leading horse and rider insurance provider since 1988 and are a brand of Allianz Insurance plc which insures more than 1 million pets and horses.
Regardless of whether you are a part time rider or professional you should never be without a good insurance policy. Accidents can happen at any time and under a Petplan Equine policy they offer several essential benefits as standard:
Having horses is an expensive business and in 2015 alone, Petplan Equine paid out over £12,800,000 for claims which is over £1 million per month. There are different kinds of insurance depending on your needs including horse insurance, rider insurance and a veteran plan for horses over 20.
Although we won’t be needing insurance for Evies horse anytime soon it is good to know that there are specialist companies out there should we ever be fortunate enough to have our own horses in the future.
XOXO

This post is in collaboration with Petplan Equine and thank you to Petplan for making Evies horse come to life.
Heidi would love a horse more than anything – I think this toy is a good compromise!
Oh my goodness, her pet horse looks so so cute… Did you not tell her it’s a unicorn?
I love seeing how all these pets turn out and there have been some amazingly weird and wacky ones x
