Since moving we have been lucky enough to have a room that we call our home office, granted it had a son sleeping in it at one point but now he has moved back in with his brother (they spent more time camping out in each others rooms anyway – this way there is less shouting through walls!) we have gained our office back!
This does of course mean we have been looking for that ideal shade of paint that will encourage more productivity on the work front, storage to keep everything tidy and also on the hunt for office furniture that will fit in with the keeping of the house. Since our home is rented we cant have anything fixed so any additional furniture all has to be removed when we leave.
I love sleek lines and also have a huge desire for shabby chic everywhere which means I am rather picky when it comes to new additions in the home. White is a huge favourite but this also has complications with 5 children finding any excuse to spin round on my office chair! I am however a little in love with this fabulous Ferrara chair in light grey and chrome from the BoConcept Glasgow Store which is a lot softer than stark white and I guess not show the wear quite as quickly!
Since I spend most of my time either writing posts, sourcing things for us to do as a family or editing pictures etc as well as crafts (sewing, scrap booking, paper crafts, kids crafts etc) I need something that will store a multitude of items and this work station could be just the ticket! With drawers, cupboards, a desk and plenty of work space this would prove to be an ideal solution to my ever expanding craft storage necessities!
As well as the work bench above I adore the idea of keeping paperwork off the desk and this wall office looks like an ideal solution to keeping everything neat and tidy while freeing up work space too.
There is even room for a large speaker at the top which would mean we could have music as we work – background noise is important otherwise I easily get distracted! The perils of being use to a noisy household!
At the moment I am thoroughly enjoying the prospect of revamping a rather dark and dreary sage green office into a light and airy haven where I can create and work full time!
