Perfume and flowers are such traditional gifts to give mum that I thought I would source some different items that would really maker her smile this year. Something to help ease away the pains once the kids are in bed, something to pamper herself and of course something simply for her. I’m not talking about my mum, or your mum – I’m talking about any mum, me included. I know I would love flowers but something that is a treat for me is not going to be easily forgotten!
Being a stationery addict I would adore a parcel filled with notebooks, pens, pencils, something to doodle in and something to covet! These notebooks from The Gifted Notebook are just such beautiful items that I don’t even know if I could bring myself to write in them, I would probably just sit and stroke it for a while (only stationery addicts will understand and no its not weird at all!) 😉 RRP: £14.99
My next wish list item is something I have loved since the girls got their ballerina brushes from Rock & Ruddle at Christmas. I keep pinching theirs but my hair is so thick that I need something bigger and the new Spring collection come in large and feature Love Birds! With natural bristle & nylon tips: One nylon tip per bristle bundle to thoroughly but gently brush the hair. For all hair types, great for detangling thick hair. RRP: £30.00
In keeping with hair I do love a good pampering session so would love to have a whole hour or so to myself – now that in itself would make an amazing gift! If you can’t manage to give me an hour alone then at least get me some gorgeous goodies so I can feel like I am spending time at the spa in my own home!
Phil Smith have created The Total Treat collection, comprising of shampoo and conditioner, Argan oil cream and glossing serum this set will provide the care our hair so desperately needs after being stuck up in a mum bun for most of its life! The range of paraben free shampoo is exclusive to Sainsbury’s stores nationwide and are also certified Cruelty Free. RRP: from £4.00
I know I have mentioned them before in gift guides but the lovely Mummy Loves Organics Candles are beautiful and are a must for all candle lovers. Deliciously scented non-toxic candles. When lit, they melt into a magical massage oil for an ultimate luxurious, hydrating experience, which soothes both body and mind. RRP: £35.00
Home scent is a big thing for me and I love having candles lit, scented plug ins and oil/wax burners/melts on the go all the time. Amphora Aromatics has just launched six 100% pure essential oil aromatherapy blends – Sleep, Energise, Revive, Focus, Relax, Festive. The new blends help boost well-being and create a host of natural room fragrances. Amphora Aromatics also create their own range of AA skin care. RRP: from £7.50
Working full time and being a stay at home mum too means I do get a little stressed at times and the wonderful people over at Ayurveda Pura have created a Calm Your Mind kit which includes De-Stress Herbal Tea, De-Stress Rejuvenating Skin Toner, Calm Mind Herbal Food Mix, a guidline how to use the products for maximum benefit and a cotton bag to keep it all in! I am trying to cut down on my caffeine so this will be great to get me focused and hopefully reduce my stress levels at the same time! RRP: £35.00
When I have time to myself I love nothing more than getting my nails done! Now, having bitten them for most of my life when I was younger it has made them weak and they have a tendency to break so easily. My solution was to get acrylic nails applied professionally as they will then stay in place for a good few weeks and only need infills after a while – this means I can colour my nails all I like too! Some of my favourite colours right now are from Soigne Botanique. I adore natural colours so the Paris kit is an absolute dream – featuring 3 nail varnishes in adorable gift packaging this is the ultimate luxury gift for any beauty lover!
Figue – Deep grey at first glance, this polish tantalises your senses with a hint of purple to liven up your nails.
Truffe – This chic, deep grey, will bring out your inner socialite.
Taro – This khaki brown will have you ready and raring for an adventure, giving you a taste of South East Asia.
RRP: £26.00
One of my favourite pastimes is completing a jigsaw, people laugh when I say I can get 1000 pieces ones done in a day and I use to fly through them when I was on bed rest when pregnant. Some of my favourite ones are the Wasgij ones where you only see what the characters are looking at – you don’t get to see the finished jigsaw (…hence the name is jigsaw backwards!) There is no image for you to follow which makes it a little more challenging and that’s what I enjoy! The Wasgij jigsaws are on special in Argos at the moment – 2 for £15! I was kindly sent the Celebrity Chef and have given you a little snippit below so as not to spoil the image for those who haven’t completed it yet!
I hope that has given a few ideas for something different and I would love any of the above should I be so lucky on Mothers Day. I have booked afternoon tea for my mum and have a treat in store for her too so I am hoping that she doesn’t actually read this post! lol
XOXO
Debbie
