Declaring a sick day!
Evie is off school poorly today so that puts a stop to me and Little Miss having an outdoors adventure and to be honest its pretty chilly out there today anyway so mummy is a little grateful for a day inside nice and warm. Thankfully we have a huge bag of craft goodies that will keep them both occupied today so out comes the books, pens, paints, pompoms, you name it we have it and if we don’t I’m sure they will raid my own craft boxes to find what they need!
Its been a while since we took any growing measurements etc and they have both grown A LOT, so I am sure they will love it if we paint their hands and feet to get some prints for our memory box. At the moment we seem to have a never ending supply of empty toilet roll tubes too so I can see some Easter bunnies and chicks being made as well as the obligatory binoculars! Do your kids ever just glue two tubes together and play for hours looking for treasure and ‘spotting’ things – ah, the simple things! haha
When its nap time I’m going to try and get my kitchen cupboards organised, I have way too much baking stuff in half filled packets as its easier just to reach for a new one each time! I am going to decant them all into jars and label them with these handy chalkboard labels. We have lots of coloured chalk pens but I’m sure I will end up opting for white as it will look cleaner against the sugar/flour etc. I love a good open plan kitchen where the shelves and cupboards have no doors and everything is on display but unfortunately we have sons and with that comes empty packets and open boxes of cereal that inevitably spill when, predictably, they are thrown back in the cupboard! *sigh*
One day we may have an open plan kitchen but for now I’m happy with my cupboard doors firmly shut!
Are you an open or closed door baker?
XOXO
Debbie
Where did you get your chalk front jars? I need those in my life, so many packets spilleth-overing in my cupboard! #bigpinklink
They were from The Works i think a while ago though. Im sure they are available online as i have seen them used on projects before.
I would love an open doors kitchen too! I really fancy my kitchen to have free standing, wooden units one day, with things decanted into vintage storage jars… But that is a pipe dream at the moment, as the children are 3 and 2, and we have to have all doors firmly shut, AND childlocked to prevent the contents of absolutely everything being cascaded all over the floor!
Your craft box sounds awesomely stocked-even though I have 2 boys, I really hope they’ll be into crafts which involve pompoms one day! Thanks for sharing with #bigpinklink!
My sons are always wanting to make things so im sure they will be! Once my then 6 year old came into my room and kept disappearing with all my black card, he then came and got some clear acetate! I was told i wasnt allowed to see – then an hour or so later he came walking in the room in a FULL darth vader outfit, heavy breathing through the acetate window and everything!! haha I didnt know whether to laugh at the creativity or cry because he used all my supplies! haha
Oh what a lovely day you had just doing craft bits and getting organised. Totally envious as I always dream of having lovely days like that but never seem to get round to them or find the time. Emily #bestandworst
