Wow is it just me or has the weather really taken a turn for the worse this week?! I’m freezing and we have resorted to having the heating on almost 24/7, not good! So, this weeks little loves is brought to you from underneath a blanket with blue finger tips and my thousandth cup of coffee – lets crack on before I freeze in place!
In prep of launching the new blog I have been reading a lot of foodie blogs and kitchen style magazines and books. I have also been rereading some of my own recipes and tweaking them to make them even better than the first time – the kids have loved the salted caramel chocolate cakes I’ve made this week, next one the list are chocolate strawberry cakes!
Flicking through the sky channels I came across another new series that I am totally hooked on….Conviction! Its about the daughter of a former first lady who, instead of being locked up for cocaine possession, ends up running a group to overturn convictions of innocent prisoners. It feels a little like Castle (which i loved) in that it isn’t too heavy and doesn’t take its self too seriously. Also I am totally addicted to Big Brother (oh the shame!) but ever since Kim entered the house I seriously am waiting for the men in white coats to come in and take her away – I mean seriously i thought they had to pass a psych test before going in!?! On a side note I am loving James C and be still my heart Callum!
When I was younger I would stay up for hours listening to a show on metro radio called Night Owls. Alan Robson would talk about things going on in the north east and the world, take calls from randoms and do competitions. Many a drunken friday night was spent sobbing along with the stories and sad songs! lol Well, I was in the car with Caroline last night and Alan Robsons night owls was on! I thought it had finished around 20 years ago so I was taken way back to hear his voice and the same tone of the phone calls into the studio! Some things never change! lol
Last night I had the pleasure of attending the very first cookery class at Thaikhun restaurant in the Metro Centre. We have previously visited to review the kids menu and to be honest since the invite came through in December to attend I have been dying to go back!
We got to make spring rolls and green Thai curry which was lovely (minus coriander thankfully) but I will be doing a full write up so watch out for that soon.
I think this counts as wore since it was all over my face! lol After having the most amazing time at Feminine Grace Beauty Parlour and School I cant wait to visit with Evie for Mummy and Me time in February and of course there will be a write up coming soon about this beautiful place!
This morning we visited a lovely little coffee shop in the next village over! We drove through last night and noticed a few little boutique style shops popping up so I am rather excited at the prospect of having these on the doorstep. Chocolate cake for breakfast is always acceptable isn’t it?
XOXO
