This week has been a tough one filled with lots of sadness and moments of wonder about what kind of world we are raising the kids in. It got me thinking that this is one of the reasons we should be doing more of these kinds of posts so instead of shying away from speaking about or precious moments or little pieces of wonder that make us realise just how lucky we are, we should be celebrating it every day!
With that in mind here are just a few of my favourite #LittleLoves from the past week:
I am making a conscious effort to read more and switch off my phone! Seriously I have a groove in my finger from where my phone rests and that speaks volumes! From here on in I will be reading a new book and then passing it on in a RAK to anyone who would like it – first up this week is the brand new release THE GIRLS.
I picked it up in Waterstones this morning on recommendation of the lady behind the counter who then proceeded to tell me it is based on the Charles Manson killings (which it mentions no where on the book!) She also recommended The Essex Serpent so I think that will be next on the list as it seems like something I wouldn’t normally choose and I am all about branching out lately!
I finished Breaking Bad and jury is still out, it was a good series but I think it was hyped up too much for me and by the end I was ok it was over…normally i hate box sets ending. I found a good 8 episode drama on Sky, Wicked City, Staring Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass from Gossip Girl) this is a story of a serial killing pair on sunset strip. Apparently it was axed from tv after 3 episodes so i am not holding out much hope for a second series!
I know this might sound a little strange but I made myself go out! We are total home birds and unless we have something scheduled to do we seldom leave the house but today I put on my big girl pants, strapped Amelia into her buggy and set off on an adventure with her! We headed into Durham and hit Bill’s for Breakfast, Amelia had Blueberry and Buttermilk pancakes and I had Pancakes with Maple Syrup and Smokey Bacon. This is something I have seen in lots of places but the English in me just couldn’t imagine the combination of syrup, pancakes and BACON. OH EM GEE – what else do I need to try because I have been missing out on these for a long time now and that is certainly going to be rectified on a regular basis!
THE HEAT OH THE HEAT! I have been trying to wear as little as possible and I mean that in the most decent of senses! I’m talking jeans with strappy tops or my flowery trousers and strappy tops – long gone are the days of shorts and when you wear shorts you need to shave your legs and ain’t no one got time for that!
The kids laughing! Seriously is there anything more beautiful than pure joy and laughter – without it being attached to watching a tv programme or game system! We took the girls to the beach as it was scorching last night and Evie even wore her swimming costume, it was that warm! The girls had so much fun running in and out of the waves, Amelia even fell over backwards soaking herself but it didn’t stop her from getting straight back in the water.
It is the start of half term and we have just signed an exciting project for the coming week so we are all super excited to be a part of it and will be sharing lots of what we are doing during the week.
XOXO
