Lancome have just launched a product, that in my opinion, is one of the most exciting of 2016 so far! The Juicy Shaker is a whole new concept in lip colour, an oil and pigment which when shaken gives a deliciously glossy coverage with no stickiness!
I was lucky enough to be invited along to Fenwicks Newcastle yesterday to try out the Juicy Shakers and speak with the team about the launch. I have to admit I was also rather excited that I would get the chance to talk to the fabulous Fortunato Benavoli, the Lancome make up professional who did Estee Lalondes BAFTA make up look this year!
After being greeted by the lovely Lancome team and offered brightly coloured drinks at 10 am, which I have a sneaky suspicion may well have been Wicked, we got to sit down and try the Shakers! There are 14 colours in total including a clear mint flavour ‘gloss’.
The bottle itself is something else, a combination of two of Lancôme’s most iconic products, Juicy Tubes and The Shaker, a lipstick that was launched in 1945 and created by Lancôme’s founder Armand Petitjean. This idea was apparently a creation of Lancôme Makeup Creative Director Lisa Eldridge – a guru in all things beauty so I am very excited for future launches if this one is anything to go by!
With names like Mango Wild, Berry in Love and Wonder Melon you would be right in guessing that these shakers have a fruity theme and flavour too. Subtle in colour and flavour these will be a huge hit with all age ranges and retailing at £18, for a high end cosmetic, not too bad a price point either.
I tried the Cherry Symphony and although it is deep red in colour whilst in the tube, it gave a soft dewy look to my lips that felt very conditioning and light. The more you shake the bottle the more pigment is activated so you get to control coverage – ideal for transitioning from a daytime to night look!
After grabbing some lunch with Shannon (link at the bottom of post), we headed to the make up session which is where Fortunato was to show us how to create a light and easy spring look. Having been told by him to use my Clarisonic every day and having my wrists slapped for not doing so I took ample notes and photographs of how he cleansed and prep’d the models skin. (I have to admit I was no sooner through the door home and I had my make up off like we were shown! I did promise to do better in future so no time like the present!)
A beautifully dewy look was created with all Lancome products including an eye shadow palette I would never have looked twice at since it was lilacs and purples but boy did he work wonders with it! (Wish list – purple palette, check!) How gorgeous and flawless does the model look (..ok so she was 18 with practically newborn skin but hey I did get told my skin was looking good for almost 42 so I’m clinging on to that one for a while!)
I think its safe to say these new Juicy Shakers are going to fly off the shelves and, with more than a couple of colours on my wishlist, I can see them as a staple in my day to day looks in the future too!
As you all know I love to host giveaways and share some of the fabulous things I come across while blogging. I know I am very lucky to have participated in the launch so I would love to offer one of you the chance to try the new Juicy Shakers for yourself. All you need to do is follow the steps below and a winner will be chosen on the 31st of March, the winner will choose the colour they wish to try and I will send out to you myself.
I also have an additional competition for another Shaker over on my Instagram page – follow the instructions to enter.
