As mentioned last week the girls love their Jojo bows and we were lucky enough to be asked to review the Jojo bow maker, the price of the bows in stores is a little under £10 each so if we can make our own then this could save a small fortune!
The deluxe box contains bow maker and 4 holding clips, 4 large ribbons, 4 small ribbons, 8 ribbon ties, 8 Jojo Siwa bow charms, 8 hair clips, 2 pompoms, 15ml fabric glue, diamante self adhesive gems, 3 yards of cotton and a bow display ribbon.
Set up was simple, however making the bows was a little more difficult! The first couple didn’t end up looking like the bows on the box and they were not at all like bought Jojo bows but for the kids to practice it is a good value item. There are a couple of Youtube videos on how to make them a little easier but we found the instructions were difficult to follow especially with the patterned ribbon as the patterns ended up back to front etc. The plain ribbon was a little easier to use but still not perfect, the kids enjoyed it though and maybe it was just my perfectionist side coming out!
The glue included took a little too long to dry so was no good for the steps in between where you need to add something else quickly, it was best left over night to dry. Likewise with the gems, they had a tendency to fall off after a while and we are still finding them all over the house!
Overall, the girls liked the idea of making their own bows and spent ages trying to get to grips with it which was good as we did get a couple of decent bows out of it at the end. I think it will take a little more practice and considering you can just buy plain ribbons and create your own it is a good investment in the long run if your little ones are Jojo fans!
