Do you keep a dream journal or remember your dreams so vividly that you wake up in sweats or tears?
For a long time I have taken an interest in what dreams means so when I was given the chance to work with world leading dream expert Ian Wallace I wasn’t going to turn down that opportunity! Adjustable Beds have teamed up with Ian to help us understand what’s going on within our minds when we dream. In the first part of the #dreamsexplained YouTube series they will help us make sense of the wild world of children’s dreams.
I think that we all know the basics of if you dream your teeth are falling out its about control and fear of losing something, flying symoblizes being high, or happy about life or something going on in your life.
For a long time I had a recurring dream when I was younger that I would grow up and marry someone famous, of course it would all start out as a fairy tale where he plucked me from obscurity and we fell madly in love. Life was good until they died in some horrific accident and I was left all alone to pick up the pieces. These days if i had that dream i would shrug it off but when you’re younger these dreams can break your heart! I remember being grief stricken when I woke and felt as though I had an actual loss – the pain would stay with me for days and even now more than 25 years later I still remember each of the dreams as if they were last night.
For me they were always night time dreams, I don’t think I have ever dreamed while dozing on the sofa or asleep outside in the sunshine! Not sure if its something about being snuggled up tight that puts you into a deep enough sleep to dream or something about the darkness of night that brings on these little charades played out to keep you on your toes!
Since we moved I have had some awful dreams, even waking up crying with some but then not remembering why I was upset! The bed is so uncomfortable though that I tend to toss and turn most nights so that probably stops me from falling into a deep sleep – having a child that has just moved to a toddler bed too and wakes several times a night may explain some things too! What I would love is one of those adjustable beds but i could see me playing with them so much that I get even less sleep! lol
XOXO
